Pros

Intelligent colleagues; great work; excellent work and life balance; opportunities for growth and advancement; good team work for business development; Western U.S. platform offers clients broad resources; global involvement and global network are good for attorneys and clients

Cons

More cross-office collaboration would be helpful - for attorneys and clients; consideration should be given by management to the treatment of non-attorney professionals and the impact of their morale on client service and business development

Pros

Stoel Rives is definitely not a sweatshop and a dedicated attorney can actually make partner unlike at other big firms. Attorneys are encouraged from the beginning to begin business devolpment and given a budget to do so (no approval needed).

Cons

Salary a bit lower than the biggest firms, but Seattle market is different than New York, Washington DC or CA.
