Lots of micro managers and, the Cultural Journey is a real time waster. Straumann is facing very serious competition in the dental world. They are by far the highest cost in the industry but their customer service in second rate. They are trying to sell the Rolex of dental implant but most customers don't care. The dental market has more and more players which is increasing pressure to lower prices. The systems in place are primitive but they aspire to be a first rate medical device company. The pay is lower that other med device companies in the area too. There is no room for advancement unless you get your boss fired. Stay away unless this is your only option.

The HR dept. is the worst I have ever experienced -completely inept, power hungry, manipulative and ignorant of basic HR guidelines. Curious that while other teams were being hit by pay cuts and no raises, that team was full of promotions... Training since day one was continuously a challenge- filled with short cuts and inept trainers... New processes in all departments that are rolled out are filled with short cuts that only a few know about and "work-arounds" as opposed to testing systems and being sure they worked first before expecting the employees to adapt the new processes... Upper management is clueless and out of touch with realistic demands on their teams. There are no clear cut paths to success or growth, no rewards or compensation for excelling at your job- it doesn't matter- at Straumann you will be lumped in with those whose work is at best mediocre. Employee satisfaction is not important to those running the N. American office. So many people are jumping from this sinking ship, and yet, those responsible continue to reign- it is baffling., and sad.
