Ok for Tucson, has potential to be better

Pros

Hands down, the people. Co-workers are intelligent & dedicated to working with excellence. The new building is beautiful. Benefits and job stability are good for Tucson where the job market is lacking.

Cons

Nepotism has been killing the company culture for the last few years. It's no secret who will be promoted and recognized and you have to be ok with that if you want to work there because it is the same people every year (whether they meet targets or not) while everyone else who surpasses goal is lucky to get a 1% increase. The upper level leadership can be condescending, demeaning and accusatory, although if you have a backbone and stand up to them, they do seem to respect you more and back off some. Negotiate your salary when you start because they will low ball you, unless....well, nepotism. Acquisitions are good, but head count has shrunk significantly so most roles are treading water to stay ahead.

Thank you for the thoughtful feedback. We agree that the people and the Tucson location are awesome. With regard to promotions over the course of the last two years we've promoted over 10% of the company per year based upon objective performance criteria. Moreover recognitions are based on employee nominations. We work hard to have a culture whereby feedback is welcomed at all levels of the organization however any sort of demeaning circumstances are not tolerated. We hope that your experience here improves and that you stay a part of our team for a long time.

Pros

Sunquest was a great company to work for at one time. The key word here is "was" - past tense, as in no longer "is."

Cons

I saw a post here asking why so many quality employees are leaving and I had to laugh. The company is driving them out! They are quitting or being let go because they make too much or because they see where positive change should occur but management is too scared to listen. That's right: this is a dying company driven by fear of its own employees and fear of change. The employees see it and so do the clients! Why do you think every negative review on here is followed almost immediately by a three or more star review? More lies and fear. Sunquest management sees it.

Going in a wrong direction

Pros

I learned a lot about how horrible corporate work can be. For a while, I was on a great team with hard working people including a very focused boss who knew how to help her team members grow and flourish.

Cons

But that team suffered under new senior leadership. Then the director left and the new director was brought in specifically to slash the entire team to ribbons which began within six weeks of arrival and completed about two months later, having cut 9 out of the team of 12. No discussion. No warning. No compassion. SO GLAD I'm out of there!
