Good if you want a job somewhere warm and don't have experience
Pros
The best reasons to work for Sunquest Information Systems are: -they will hire you without experience, so you can get past the "experienced required" part of developing a career -it's in Tucson -40 hour work weeks, unless you just want to work more -gym and cafeteria on-site -limited other options in AZ other than defense
Cons
Very concerned with costs: low per diem allowances on travel, so much so that people try to avoid traveling, little investment in tools and equipment, corporate priority initiatives handed to interns, entry-level staff, work off-shored to save short-term costs Owned by equity company - emphasis on generating cash for owners No chance to move into management positions from engineering positions, management is an HR function (no functional leadership) Very high ratios of staff to managers so reviews are not helpful No opportunity to learn to be better in your field, because HR/Vista is not interested in hiring "that level of talent" - exceptions to this are the areas of process/procedure writing/auditing and very basic project management where you can get good experience Salary increases for performance are capped at levels near cost of living Executive management is not on-site Working remotely is not permitted except for executives and traveling positions like sales and implementation. A company run by spreadsheet, not by vision or any desire to produce amazing software.
