Pros

You get to work at home, and the hours are flexible. You don't need any technical skills because they are turning the job into a script monkey position. If you can read a script and follow a moronic interactive flow chart, you can do this job. Perfect for the 16 year old techie looking to make some extra cash after school.

Cons

Upper management does not respect the employees. Management cuts the pay of techs by 33% and then forces you to work overtime to make up the difference, No raises, You have to provide your own computer equipment, you can make about the same pay at some fast food restaurants. RST Employee turnover is very high. The people that you have to help are angry Comcast customers, so if you hate Comcast, then this job is not for you.

Pros

The job use to be awesome, there are some pretty awesome co-workers, and you get to work from home.

Cons

If you get hired in now the pay is pretty low. If you think you are getting into a tech support job you are mistaken. A typical day as an RST involves reading a script to the customer, making them more angry in the name of customer service. The requirements of this script will change without notice, then you will get audited based on those standards on calls before they were implemented. Once you receive your low audit score they will threaten to fire you. I was fine for a year, one of the top performers, now I am on the fast track for termination because of miscommunication, and lack of desire to anger the customers. I am good at my job, fix every problem.. But I don't script things the way they would like. It's difficult to explain how bad it is, but get a job there and you will see.. Look elsewhere if you want to be valued, if you are an out of work actor this may be a great job for you though.
