Pros

Work from home; left alone to do your job (no hovering supervisors); decent training; great mentors; good way to break into IT or refresh skills after being away from the field

Cons

Malfunctioning tools; strict metrics; working as sub-contracted support for the most hated company in the United States; just started requiring us to take Tier 1 calls as well as Tier 2 for the same poor pay (meaning back to back angry customers for every shift); supervisors call you on your off days to guilt you into taking overtime; pay is NOT competitive (it's $10.25/hr for two tiers of support; Apple and Asurion start out their Tier 1 work-at-home support at $17).

Pros

Work From Home Model, Talented and innovative people, Goal Oriented company, management is very interested in new ideas and out of the box thinking.

Cons

Little to know career advancement opportunities. Many promises made and not followed through by upper management. New CEO and board do not communicate with employees at all. Changes in industry have caused a lot of stability issues. Unrealistic expectations of middle management and front line employees.

Pros

None - Any of the "Pros" have left for better pay and lower stress.

Cons

Apparently what this company is run by. Do you like dealing with angry customers 8 hours a day? Then this job is for you. Do you like dealing with every Internet related issue a customer has as well as many that don't relate because they were dumped on you by India reps that can do this and never get reprimanded and oh by the way you HAVE to take the call? Then this job is for you. Do you like low pay w/o any option for a raise? Then this job is for you. Do you like talking with supervisors about issues only to find that they have left because it is their EOS and with no warning/handoff? Then this job is for you. Do you like being made a fool because the tools required to do the job are down for hours, sometimes days during peak hours? Then this job is for you. Do you like being the guinea pig for the companies software(s) during peak hours because you are the tester of changes? Then this job is for you. Do you like to work for a company that has minimal at best opportunities for promotion? Then this job is for you. Do you like working with people that don't get held to the same standards as you (India)? Then this job is for you. Do you like policies and procedures that change frequently and usually not for the better of your job but for the better of the "client"? Then this job is for you. Do you like using all of your resources to make a company rich while you go poor? Then this job is for you. Do you like being forced to work OT hours on a frequent basis because of understaffing/turnover worse than McD's (they will lie and tell you it's because of other reasons but smart ones will soon figure the truth)? Then this job is for you. Do you like working for a company that cares more about the bottom line than you? Then you will love this job!! Do you like working for a company that says they promote within but really hires "off the street" supervisors that know less than you? Then this job is for you. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. This company is doing call center work from home and is still trying to figure out how to make it work. Change is CONSTANT!! It is nothing more than a low pay, high stress position using your resources to save them $$ AND you get to be their guinea pig while they try to figure out ways to save even more and push you to do more. Worst company I have ever worked for in 35+ years. Currently outsourcing US jobs overseas to save even more. Stocks are failing miserably. You'll figure it out if you ever decide to apply.
