Pros

We at SurePayroll are now using new tools like JIRA, Confluence & Git. We are breaking our monolithic application into Micro services, we are using RabbitMQ, SOLR, we are planning to deploy using Dockers. Within 1 year, entire landscape has changed. The IT department has gone from slow paced to working on cutting edge & fast paced. We are even planning to build our UI using Angular 2.0. QA team is focused heavily on Automation using Selenium. Under new leadership in IT, there is renewed sense of urgency and this is good. For last few years, I feel we were slowing down and now we are getting back to be a top player. If we continue like this, we will be one of the most innovative company in Chicago area.

Cons

Developers are taking little more time to learn newer technologies. But we will get this done. Part of change at SurePayroll.

Pros

Great starting pay for a call center ($17.25). Great benefits.

Cons

They tell you how great it is to work for SurePayroll yet they have a high turnover rate! Most of the reps have been in their positions for less than a year. During year end, there is NO work life balance. If you have children, expect to be away from them for at least 12 hours a day while working for this company. The managers, supervisors and team leads are not as friendly and flexible as they portray themselves to be. After two weeks of training you will be thrown onto the phones before you're ready. There's supposed to be help nearby (because of your inexperience) but your team leads will not be as helpful or present as you'd think. It's really disappointing. Your coworkers will be petty and will throw you under the bus. Be careful what you say and WHO you say it to. Don't make the mistake of thinking someone is your 'friend' after one friendly conversation.
