Pros

Work from home, pay

Cons

Where to begin. The CEO should take a good look at the “talent” that he keeps employed directly underneath him. It’s known amongst employees that certain executives have him blind sided and wrapped around their finger. Mainly his Chief People Officer who should not be in her role. The HR Department is a joke along with many of the managers who work at the company. This company tries to divert your focus from the fact that they are a walking ball of issues with employees quality employees leaving left and right with fake pictures of “happy” employees. Most employees are not happy here and want to leave. This company should throw out their CEO and executives and start over again. Do not work here...you will regret it.

Pros

Compensation is pretty good, work from home option is nice

Cons

The people they are bringing in as managers and directors are awful. They're all about putting the blame on their employees and they have created a hostile work environment. It's depressing going to work every Monday. I pray for a new job all day, every day.

Cons

Surescripts still has some growing to do in terms of processes, but nothing that would cause one stress in the account management department

Pros

It has a really great culture. You can tell they care about their people and want to keep them! It is also great to work for a company with a good mission. We aren't just talking hype, we are helping people and that feels good!

Cons

There is a steep learning curve joining the Healthcare IT world. But everyone is so helpful and acknowledges that there is a lot to learn so they help you along.

Pros

To say that these are unprecedented times is an understatement as people across the world are dealing with the impact of COVID-19. I am proud to be working for an organization that is helping medical professionals better serve patients and prevent further spread of the virus. I am also grateful to our leadership team for providing open and regular communication on how our organization is responding and resources that employees can take advantage of to support them and their loved ones during this time of need. We have really talented and passionate people here! We typically like to be together in person to work through issues, problem solve, generate new ideas, hang out over a cup of coffee or lunch, etc. It's been hard to not be able to do that over the last several weeks, but I've been really impressed with the creative ways that people have been connecting to not only keep moving forward with planned projects but also to have fun, be silly and make sure their teammates are actively included and engaged. We're still hiring for full-time employees across our different offices and functional groups, and also still holding our summer internship program. Both our hiring managers and interns were not swayed by the fact that some or all of the summer experience might be remote - they were just thrilled we were having it, and already started brainstorming ways to make it really impactful, no matter where we are! Everyone is doing their best to adapt and remotely on-board folks and ensure they feel part of Surescripts right away, but we are definitely looking forward to when we can welcome them in person to our beautifully renovated new office spaces! I have twenty plus years of work experience and have been with Surescripts for over three years, and I can truly say it is one of the best places I have ever worked. Our purpose is critical to the world of healthcare, and the people and my teammates are amazing!

Cons

It is a complex industry and sometimes hard to grasp all of the nuances. It is also a very fast moving work environment and can be challenging to keep up at times. There is a continuing need and focus on process improvements as we grow and incorporate new technology.

Pros

Interview process was well orchestrated; HR actually has updated org roles and equitable pay scales (which aligned with my current skills and job location). Middle management is receptive to change from staff and senior management alike. Strong desire for continuous improvement Company 'culture' isn't force-fed or lip-service; there are defined values, etc., but every office a little bit different with how they implement them in practice. After a probation period, we can work from home 2+ days a week, depending on our manager. Overall, hard work is recognized and rewarded.

Cons

Lots of tribal knowledge / not enough documentation about internal processes or how things actually work, combined with high expectations from management, makes the initial on-boarding and learning curve a bit stressful.

Pros

- Great exposure to the healthcare technology industry: I was new to healthcare and it was rewarding to learn how the pharmacy industry works, the different industry players, the revenue-generating products, etc. -Training opportunities: the firm budgets for employee training, whether it is an out of town conference, an accounting pronouncement training, etc. the firm also has in-house soft-skill training covering organizational behaviors and leadership pathway for managers and above - Great work life balance/flexibility: I came from the public accounting industry and wanted a job with more predictable hours. This is a standard 9-5 job with a little overtime at month end closing, but nothing terrible. My manager also offers one work-from-home day per week. - Friday lunches/social events: the firm invests on employees through Friday lunches, social events such as paint night, family feud, etc. to help new employees assimilate into the company

Cons

- Slow upward mobility: this is a mid-sized company and the organizational structure is relatively flat, though this is common in the private industry as compared to the public accounting industry where there is a clearly defined career path from staff to partner - Less defined roles and responsibilities: this can be pros for people who worked at startups before. My role during month-end closing was set and defined based on my experience in public accounting. During non-closing time, I was thrown into ad-hoc projects and meetings where there may not be immediate deliverables. Get used to constant changes in processes.

Pros

I just removed my magnum opus review from 2015 giving the then-management/Surescripts a 2/5 stars. I went on ad nauseam about everything from asinine corporate culture training, hypocritical HR reward initiatives, wasteful spending and lazy project management/decision making. Three years have passed since that review - and while I can safely say that not *all* of my concerns have been addressed, 2018-era Surescripts is a very different beast. * Compensation remains competitive - benefits are good-to-great. * HR and management actually seek corporate opinion before rolling things out or making sweeping changes. We feel engaged and listened to. * The re-organization (cleaning house) from a few years back made a huge improvement. We have fewer (and mostly better) people making decisions. We're no longer finding ourselves in managerial deadlocks. * New corporate values are succinct and appropriate. Because of this - "driving them home" feels natural and encouraging. * Individual, team, and corporate goals are finally getting aligned. This makes things easier to get done - and stresses the importance of forecasting and anticipating work, rather than dropping projects on people mid-year unexpectedly.

Cons

The largest (and arguably one of the only) things I feel is hurting our organization are a few apathetic managers. [Note - these folks are the minority. You could honestly count them on one hand. However - they're in pivotal roles, and far reaching effects on other teams] I feel like there are still some decision-makers who don't really have their heart in their work. This manifests into a variety of different things: * Manager indifference. When you fail to have an opinion of your own, that you're willing to defend, people aren't confident in moving forward. We need passionate and opinionated leaders (with some humility) who can inspire confidence and excitement in their team. * Laziness. When you become apathetic to your work, you don't really care about finding the "right" solution - as much as you often care about finding the most convenient one. We've made many decisions (arguably bad ones) which can be traced back to a single leader failing to leave their comfort zone and consider taking on more work to "do it correctly the first time." * Defensiveness. There's more than a few folks who are hyper-protective of their teams and departments. They'll try to direct blame to other teams or departments if and when mistakes are discovered. There are also teams that want to maintain complete control and whose management does not foster cross-department cooperation. This "dog-eat-dog" style means that other departments cannot get reasonable requests made in good faith completed in a timely manner. **The only other thing** I'd say is a con would be the silly anniversary and birthday cards you (HR) send out. A single signature on a generic card that doesn't even have my name is the most hilariously impersonal greeting card I've ever received. Honestly - you'd be better off not sending them at all. They used to rub me the wrong way, though now I just chuckle.

None. Absolutely nothing positive to submit.
