Pros

some great people work there.

Cons

Company boasts progressive work environment and forward thinking (including on LinkedIn) but often falls short of their promises. employees are told when to come in on snow days, and even though it's in the policy that they can work remotely on certain days - it's often revoked at the whim of upper management. It's frustrating and there is ZERO culture and morale is often quite low because of this.

Pros

Beautiful office space, lots of money to pay salaries and invest in technology.

Cons

Chaos, and a monoculture. No diversity in the marketing department. Run by a guy, who, seriously, has never written a marketing plan before.

Bad culture and unresponsive management

Pros

Good people at the lower levels, and a few good managers. Stable employment at lower level positions.

Cons

Pay rates are among the lowest in the tech industry, benefits packagers are median or below for lower-level employees compared to industry. Merit raises do not adequately reflect job performance, and can be denied for non-performance-related reasons (such as insufficiently high yearly profits). Training and documentation for front-line employees is practically non-existent. What little documentation that does exist is extremely difficult to access, due to complete lack of organization; and is often badly out of date. Toxic work environment, very conservative culture, tolerates discriminatory language and actions, regressive and outdated gendered appearance policies. A substantial lack of diversity in most departments, and especially in management. Unwilling to provide disability accommodation and work-from-home options for most employees until forced to by Covid-19 restrictions. Management unwilling to listen to experienced employees, and are often openly hostile to employee suggestions, let alone criticism. Continually repeats mistakes and makes clearly bad decisions, negatively affecting both employees and customers. Internal communication and cooperation ranges from poor to contentions; with many departments flatly refusing to work with others. Product management and development fails to understand customer needs and practices; resulting in products that are increasingly and unnecessarily difficult to implement and use; and mostly lack helpful learning and reference resources (eg. User's Guides) for customers or employees. Customer support and field service departments are chronically understaffed and overworked, with abnormally high turnover rates. Some departments require 24/7 on-call due to inadequate staffing to cover workload. Experience is not valued by management, and all front-line employees are treated as disposable. There is almost no opportunity for advancement; and management positions are more often hired from outside than promoted from within. Since the acquisition of Talyst in 2017, customer service ratings have fallen from the highest-rated in the industry (for Talyst customer service) to one of the lowest; resulting in dramatically higher rates of customer churn for both customer bases.
