Pros

- great vacation time* - access to free courses* *but everyone feels too guilty and stressed to use it

Cons

- terrible communication - dishonest, manipulative, bullying - no respect for mental health or work/life balance - parking is atrociously expensive - low pay and insulting raises - no room for growth - overworked and understaffed - terrible decision-making from leadership without any input from the employees - apparently we care far more about stakeholders than students

Pros

Week between Christmas and new years off, retirement matching, use of facilities for employee and family members, subsidy for childcare, tuition credits. Generally, individual departments are flexible with employee needs.

Cons

The pay is not competitive, the raises are minimal, merit raises are not a thing, annual raises can actually be given to someone else if "its their turn", pay a lot for parking just to work here. Recognition is not always given from a higher level.

Pros

Stable employment with decent benefits

Cons

Yearly blanket salary increase is less than a cost of living adjustment. No opportunities for merit based increases. In order to get promoted, you have to go through their entire job application process. Many employees are stagnant and have no interest in helping or putting in their best efforts.
