Good Company So Far

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

So far have actually treated people well to what I know, took care of some of the older employees who lost benefits through alternate means. They gave compensation for the overall loss in wages and benefit, which I suppose made it fair in terms of a trade off fo risk management. They seem very well organized, well informed, and accepting of new ideas as well as level headed. Not the same higher management looking down at you vibes at least you might get at other larger companies.

Cons

They have been aggressively aquiring other companies, and although the end result may or may not be okay, the practice itself is not great. Benefits and pay were both degraded a good bit compared to what the company had before being aquired.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re pleased to hear that SPA’s culture and commitment to supporting employees has resonated with you. For over 53 years, SPA has been committed to embodying a “one SPA” culture and being a continued employer of choice. It’s also pleasing to hear you appreciate our defined direction and organization. Leadership invests a significant amount of time and energy into creating clear strategic goals for the company along timelines spanning one-year, five-years, and beyond. We’re pleased to report that SPA has been routinely achieving and surpassing leadership’s defined metrics. We also recognize that continued growth is about more than just achieving metrics, especially as it relates to integrating newly acquired companies. Change may be uncomfortable at first, and that’s why SPA leadership expends significant resources researching, discussing, and deciding any benefit-related changes resulting from acquisitions, ensuring there’s a clear line of communication when these transitions are to occur. We perform a holistic review of employees’ compensation before making any changes as part of our M,A, & I process. We have also successfully stood up integration, business process, and quality assurance teams to further support smooth, good-faith transitions across all areas of the business. As we continue to grow, SPA’s commitment to being an employer of choice is unwavering. Furtermore, as a larger business we have a broad suite of additional offerings that may have been overlooked, including Learning & Development programs and five Employee Resource Groups. We encourage you to explore Nexus and engage your HRBP to ensure you're leveraging all available opportunities and benefits. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts. They will help inform decisions as we work towards continuous improvement.

Thank you for sharing your feedback! We’re thrilled to hear you appreciate our people-first focus and the impact of our dedicated managers. At SPA, we emphasis the inputs in order to achieve our desired outputs. That’s why we continually strive to provide employees with a supportive and growth-oriented environment and to internally grow leadership through developmental programs such as our APM/PM bootcamps and LEAD Manage cohorts. We also recognize that our recent growth may have led to some changes or challenges, such as teams being more spread out. To combat this, leadership has put much thought and investment into providing a consistent experience and seamless workflows to SPA employees across the breadth of our locations. This includes ongoing initiatives such as our transition to enterprise-level data management as well as our efforts to make all SPA office spaces uniform. We remain steadfastly committed to empowering our employees and managers regardless of location or team structure. Thank you again for your review! And we encourage you to continue to share specific feedback with your management.
