Company picks favorites, terrible management.

Pros

Pay is okay, the hours are okay, and for the most part, you're not overworked

Cons

There is definitely favoritism with managers, and coworkers. If someone doesn't like you, you can count on being gone quick. I saw it with numerous people.

A good place to start your career.

Pros

Free gym membership. Free beer get together once a month. The culture is great, most people are friendly.

Cons

Nepotism is King here. If you are an old childhood friend, church mate, wife, cousin, or a sibling of a tenured employee, you have nothing to worry about. If you are not, your opportunities are limited, don't expect to move up in the company. At best, Tandem is a good place to start your professional career, try not to overstay.

Pros

Great co-workers, great benefits, some flexibility when needed

Cons

Management thinks that micro-managing employees is productive and effective when in fact it just shows that there is a gross lack of trust and brings down morale. If you hire us to do our job, trust that we know how to do it. If you do need to coach us, keep it brief, we're smart, we get it! Favoritism is also very apparent within the area I work in. Opportunities are given to certain individuals continuously and not to anyone else and this is not based on skill, ability or availability. Lastly, HR should seriously take the concerns of employees and not automatically side with management. Being a manager does make you infallible. I know personally the same issue was brought to the attention of HR by at least 3 people and HR was pretty much dismissive. It caused a mass exodus of good people within our department which puts a strain on everyone.
