Dysfunctional failing business

Pros

Only work here if you absolutely have no alternative. Even then, make it short term while you search for a better opportunity.

Cons

I'd be shocked if Tend is still in business by end of 2025. The business is not profitable and they continue to cut corporate overhead without understanding how the business functions or how it will negatively impact their ability to obtain profitability or deliver a positive patient experience. There are very few people left in the company that do actual work to try and grow the business. Most of the employees that actually cared to put in the effort to grow the business are long gone. the CEO non existent and fails to provide general strategic direction or communicate with his employees at all. The entire C suite and founding members have left the company because of his inability to lead effectively. The culture and morale of the company is beyond repair. If you join Tend, expect that you will be doing the work of at least 3 people that quit before you. They are losing money by the day with impatient investors that will pull the plug any day, so don't expect fair compensation or merit increases to keep up with cost of living. While nice, the HR team is robotic and well aware of the systemic issues but powerless to do anything about it. Read through the glass door reviews and you will see a consistent theme.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. We recognize that some former employees feel strongly about their experience, and while we don’t agree with the overall characterization, we understand that passionate feedback often comes from a place of wanting to see change. Tend continues to evolve, and like many companies, we’re navigating a dynamic environment while remaining focused on delivering great patient care and creating a meaningful experience for our team members. We’re grateful for the individuals who contribute to that mission every day. We’ll continue listening, adapting, and moving forward - guided by input that’s constructive, solution-oriented, and aligned with our commitment to long-term growth and improvement. Thank you again for your feedback and please let us know if you would like to continue this discussion, email us at people@hellotend.com.

Pros

Medical environment and the employees

Cons

I felt I was sold something that isn’t. Starting with being told I was going to be trained for two weeks and on my second week there, I was working opposite of the front desk, and alone. I asked for the type of help I needed and did not receive it from upper management. Everyone has way too much on their plate. It was very overwhelming everyday and the expectation to have all these responsibilities for one person without assistant or proper staff became unrealistic. Working and being called/text/emailed on my off time was frustrating, even when I set boundaries.
