Pros

Cessna has a great benefits package. They respect that people have lives outside of work and allow their employees to take needed time to spend with family.

Cons

Career growth is as a hault and the company is going through management changes making it difficult to get a job their and promotions at this time are very unlikely.

Pros

Feel respected & valued. Can talk to other engineers and get things done, unlike another more compartmentalized firm I found was siloed, subcontracted too much design work and was too political or fixated on schedule rather than fixing problems before they messed up program schedule. At Cessna you can raise issues, collaborate and get them fixed. We care about our internal and external customers. Team oriented initiative is well received. Busy, and sometimes frustrating, but I could go home feeling good about what I was doing.

Cons

Economic downturn & layoffs - like all aircraft companies.

Moral is very low at Cessna

Pros

Very good mid-western work ethic. Most of the employees genuinely want to do a good job and continually work to improve the company. The product is very exciting to build, support and promote.

Cons

Moral is very low. The company lacks a true leader. The current president cares more about his own publicity than the engagement and development of employees. Sales are down and the only plan the senior leadership has developed centers around hope. The saying throughout the trenches is "Hope is NOT a plan".
