Pros

Below management, the people are great.

Cons

Leadership is stuck in the 1980s/90s. Sure, many people have been there for 15+ years but below that, no one gets promotions. It's a great job for a few years but you won't grow. And good luck getting any mentorship. If you're young, stay away.

Pros

I can say the Cheesecake Factory has been one of the best jobs I’ve had. I lost my job last year after years of financial stability. I applied at several jobs and decided to take the job at a location in California. I was skeptical because I haven’t had a job in the food industry in years and I was used to my office job. The training was very thorough, and we got tons of Free Food!!! I got on the floor a week later and felt completely confident in my training to do the job. My location was insanely busy and boy was it rough, but the Tips always paid the bills and it always seemed to work out at the end of the week to meet my financial goals. After getting myself together I requested a transfer to a location closer to my family and the GM and the management team helped me with the process. I spent 6 months at that location and just recently completed my 1 year. During the last few months I obtained a new full time (desk job) that pays the bills but I still continue working at The Cheesecake Factory because the managers genuinely care, I make excellent tips on the weekends, and again the Free Food. Lowkey this job saved me financially. If you want to work Very hard but secure some financial freedom and flexibility I recommend.

Cons

Utility Shifts/ doing your share of Food Running/Host/ Bakery. I know Its required to work those shifts but I don’t care for them. Some stores require way to much side work. Napkin Folds etc. When Business is slow and Managers don’t Phase servers appropriately. Some Servers get preferred sections and work load.

Pros

* Free Meals * Extremely flexible schedules (with the exception of Christmas and New Years) * The ability to cross train into different positions (unless you’re in a position that’s desperate for employees)

Cons

* Depending on the work environment, working here can possibly get you sexually harassed, assaulted and or defamed. In my two years here, I have nearly gotten into a physical altercation with a ex-felon in the dish-pit over getting bread-plates, and one of the managers harassed me and I told him to take it outside with me (he never did and apologized). * Cheesecake Factory does not do background checks, you can easily land yourself working with a sex offender or violent offender that they randomly hired off the street. * I have seen many times where people would get sexually harassed at work and management did not stop it. There were instances of workers who have been reported by multiple witnesses of sexually harassing people; and they have been fired. But generally, if a sexual harasser is trying to harass you outside of work, the company will do nothing to protect you. I have personally experienced being sexually harassed by a coworker over social media, and the company did nothing to protect me. * Depending on which location you get hired, there is a great possibility that you will work with many toxic individuals. A majority of people I worked with, heavily indulged themselves in drama and perpetuated a culture of it.
