Pros

Medical benefits are amazing, extremely subsidized Some great people you will make lifelong friends with

Cons

The CEO lies about providing a raise to the entire company, instead, he gaslit us into why he won't "lecture us on the logistics". While he, Stacey Wagner, Ginny McCormick, etc, are making MORE than enough money to live while the lowest paid CLT member is struggling to even pay their rent. The only pro is the subsidized healthcare, but don't let that be an anchor to keep you here when the company is not providing anything else. No one cares about free food/payday shopping sprees of items that were literally sent to the company by brands, for free. Unfortunately, things have gone down hill since Tony left the company & even more so after he passed. Scott Schaefer is putting Zappos in the toilet when it comes to culture & employee happiness. Zappos is not what it used to be & it will never be the same company that made headlines for their customer service.

Pros

Cool parties, Free drink machines, no uniform policy!

Cons

The whole employee happiness thing is just for publicity. Zappos doesn't truly care about its employees. 5 people reported a lead link to HR yet the HR team said they could not substantiate the claims, even though evidence was provided. HR protects their friends and does not take the proper steps to investigate serious matters. I was forced to seek employment elsewhere because I felt I was in a hostile work environment.

Pros

The benefits are fantastic, some of the best health insurance I'v ever had and the on-campus amenities are pretty nice. Many of the people who work there are very cool and can become friends outside of work too.

Cons

The company tried to be "self-managed" but somehow the end result is still being tightly managed while being told that you are not. While feedback used to be personalized and about the "story behind the numbers", now you're just a number on a spreadsheet. They spend a lot of time telling you that you can progress to any department that you want, but unless you're out drinking with the right people multiple times a week, that isn't true. The culture is based almost entirely around drinking, and while they offer alternatives, you'll be left behind if you don't drink. Overall, not at all the company that it was a few years ago.
