Best place to work!

Pros

Flexible schedule, great team, very positive environment, very supportive. The company culture is unique to any business I've worked for. It's also exciting to be a part of something growing and developing, where your contributions are appreciated. This may sound kind of sappy, but I feel really fortunate to have found this position. I can walk to work and live in a fabulous small town with tons of great recreational opportunities. It's pretty rare for a small town to have a growing, thriving employer like Thoughtexchange, usually you would have to live in a large urban centre to find anything comparable. I am sincere when I say that I love working for Thoughtexchange! This is also a company that appreciates work/life balance. I know it's a talked about a lot, but at Thoughtexchange they actually encourage you to work hard, but take your vacation time off. You can work from home, but if you like sharing a work space, we have a nice office, great kitchen, comfy chairs and work space (with A/C) in downtown Rossland.

Cons

It's fast paced and busy, but I actually like the variety and pace, overall. You do need to know how to actually work and produce results. I don't think this is actually a con, it's just the way it is and should be.

Zero confidence

Pros

No honest pros. It's all smoke and mirrors.

Cons

When I joined TE, I was inspired by the company's vision and "culture". However, over time I have come to the conclusion that it is all smoke and mirrors. Senior leadership is at the mercy of the Co-founder/CEO (who by the way does a poor job of being a CEO). Not in the expected way that leaders are accountable to their superiors or managers. I mean, anything the CEO says goes, otherwise you will be excluded, treated like an idiot, and eventually laid off. Since the most recent round of layoffs, its felt like armageddon. Anyone who is left is either the CEO's buddy or a yes man. I have zero confidence in the company's future, as I'm sure more than half of everyone who's left at the company agrees.

Pros

Amazingly smart, talented, and committed team. Very welcoming and inclusive environment. The tool has a real potential to drive change and impact in the world.

Cons

The company has no idea who they are or how to sell. They lack a clear and focused value proposition, and have grown bloated with roles that are not producing results. A company of 200 employees where nearly 1/4 of them are in overlapping Marketing roles is just one example of the poor leadership decisions you can expect to face daily. Missing your sales figures by 7 figures multiple years in a row should have been a wake up call, instead they continue to think that Marketing can fix everything. They have laid off many top talented people, only to then post the same role but offering at $30K+ less.
