Thanks for sharing your feedback. We do love our snacks and massages! And we hear from many people on the team that having the opportunity to get a broad range of experiences is a big plus of working at Thrive. We work hard to attract and retain great people, and of course, there are times when Thrivers decide to move on, but our turnover is in line with the norms for a fast-growing start-up. One of our top cultural values is to practice "compassionate directness," which means that we empower employees to surface issues and share feedback immediately, being as open, transparent, positive and productive, as possible. Our team is growing every day -- both with talent from the outside and with new opportunities for our existing team -- and we are proud of the culture we are building.

Toxic and inhumane work environment

Pros

Challenging work with a wide array of responsibilities. Learning opportunities and ability to grow your professional skillset is the only silver lining to this place.

Cons

CEO and upper management are hypocrites that do NOT care about company employees and/or their wellbeing. The illusion that this organization is a champion for change became glaringly evident within my first month of working there. This company profits off of a mission they do not practice themselves and I have never felt more burnt out than when I worked here. Thrive failed to retain most employees past 6 months - 1 year of them joining, let alone adhere to its mission to "reduce stress and burnout in the workplace." My time, personal boundaries, physical and mental health had all declined due to the toxicity and disrespect I endured at this place.

Pros

I've met some wonderful people here.

Cons

As others have noted, Thrive is run by a CEO who is focused on optics rather than results, and her insistence that employees should find joy in their work comes from a misinformed place of privilege. Leadership doesn't give employees autonomy, so calendar surfing is standard from the leadership team. DEI is an absolute afterthought internally, which can be observed in the percentage of white employees versus BIPOC. The culture itself is one of toxic positivity, where tenured employees fawn and coo over mediocre product updates. Employees across departments are incredibly burned out and distrusted, and showing up as your authentic self gets you into trouble. The product itself is not innovative for the market and there is no data to back up the claims it prevents burnout, despite the importance of data in the wellness space.
