Pros

See top propects in area, freedom during the day to run your appointments, good income based on your efforts

Cons

Office and Org will make a difference in your ability to achieve results, the office leaders and org leader are very selfish follow and old management model vs leadership model. Have not adapated to what the younger generation needs, wants, or desires. Org leader can hire but offices cannot retain people due to lack of good leadership and empathy to how they make the new people feel. You disagree or express an opinion you are cast off the and denied the opportunity to advance. There is a stong disconnect between between the org level and the corporate level.

Pros

Surrounded by positive co workers, you will form good daily habits/routine

Cons

No work life balance, late hours work never ends, pyramid scheme, pay turns into fully commission no base, burn out job. No PTO, its the end of the world to them if you take one day off because you won't make any money. They act like they care more about you than the amount you sell, but they only care about the units sold since they benefit off of it. You will probably make very little money to begin with and they make you buy $3000 worth of clothes that comes out of your paycheck until its paid off which can take up to 2 years. Overall the leaders and VPs make it seem like some glamorous job when its far from it

As a company that really strives to build and develop people, we are sorry to hear you had a negative experience. If there are any situations that you would like to discuss privately in more detail, we are always open to talking—just email careerdivision@tomjames.com. If there were any scenarios where we have not upheld our principles and values, we would want to know and address immediately. Without being argumentative, we do like to take the opportunity when relevant to point out to any potential reader’s feedback that is factually incorrect. While we appreciate feedback of any variety, it is also important to be factual: MLMs or "pyramid schemes" by nature are companies that build revenue through representative fees in addition to actual product sales. An MLM will typically charge for training/conferences, offer no benefits, hire only 1099 contractors, and in some cases require representatives to commit to purchasing a certain amount of product. By contrast, Tom James covers training 100%, including two week-long international conferences to locations like the JW Marriott-Marco Island and the Hilton Downtown Austin. All expense paid for the employee. -We provide fully comprehensive medical coverage, a robust benefits program, and our employees are W2'd employees. We offer a traditional 401(k) matching program, employee ownership, and a profit sharing program where we share our profits back to the employees at the end of each year. Yes, we are a direct sales company, but no, we are not an MLM or pyramid-style company. - It is TRUE that many of the people we attract choose to work very hard in their first years of building their clientele. Our belief is that if we help people develop goals for the life they want to build, and help them develop an activity plan to accomplish those goals, they will use both their work ethic and their efficiency/creativity to figure out how to achieve them on a monthly basis. While it does take hard work to get your business off the ground here, it is not our culture to enforce a specific hourly requirement. - We do not have a base salary. What we have is a commission-based opportunity supported by a monthly support structure that is designed to gradually decrease over 24 months as the sales professional gains more skills and clients. This structure is communicated heavily up front. -Like most companies, we offer our products at heavy discounts to our employees. However, by no means do we require employees to participate. Business-essential prospecting tools are provided free of charge to employees, and advanced tools are available on an optional basis for significantly less than the contracted amount. This, too, is common in sales. We appreciate your comments and wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Pros

Uncapped Commision, 401k, profit sharing, employee owner aka stock & options in the company, multiple annual award trips, continued personal growth, continued focus on personal, professional, spiritual, & health goals.

Cons

You need to be coachable. You need to be a bit of a self starter. You need to learn how to budget and plan for your lifestyle since it’s Commision. If you don’t want to continue to learn or grow as a person this is not the job for you
