Pros

Every employee and manager is a pleasure to collaborate with. The benefits are good.

Cons

I have witnessed unacceptable behaviour that make me question the integrity of the directors and above. They push decisions on the employees and expect everyone to be happy and get on with it. HR does not seem to be here to listen and hold people accountable, rather solely for the business, what it decides, HR pushes. DEI is mentioned but no action. I worked there for a while and the biggest shock was seeing the people of color/visible minority leave the HR team, it raised many questions among us, employees (because we talked about it). Did not feel reassuring. TT has so much potential, too bad.

Thank you so much for your feedback. At TouchTunes, our decision-making process considers the business situation, our goals and strategy, our company values, and the input of the relevant teams. We’re deeply committed to transparency in our business, especially with employees, so that everyone knows where we’re headed and the decisions we’re making to get there. We do respect that not everyone is going to agree with all of those decisions – and we understand that in some cases that disconnect may cause someone to leave our team. A key role of our HR team is listening to and advocating for our employees, and I see them strive to do that every day. I can also see that if you aren’t aligned with our decisions, you may have some dissatisfaction with our HR team as well, as they are often the team tasked with implementing those decisions. I do disagree, though, with your point regarding DEI. While we can always make improvements, we do have a number of company- and employee-driven DEI efforts intended not just to diversify our teams, but to ensure that people of marginalized identities feel welcome and included while they are here. We’re especially proud of our ongoing partnership with Queertech, a nonprofit that strives to empower 2SLGBTQ+ people to thrive in tech spaces, as well as an event TouchTunes employees hosted last fall at our Montreal office, inviting Indigenous Youth Ambassadors to explore careers in tech. Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I wish you all the best in your next opportunity. -Ross

Pros

Manager level employees are great to work with!

Cons

Leadership is extremely disconnected from rank and file employees. It's like they are working for a different company. Out of touch. Company is not loyal to employees. Laid off 4% of workforce due to revenue declining, then months later bought a bar dartboard business. No growth opportunities. CEO is only looking out for himself.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. As you know, I’m a big believer in feedback and I’m glad that you’ve taken the time to share yours. We did, as you mentioned, eliminate a very small number of roles earlier this year, even as we hired in other areas. Company strategies do change over time and sometimes those changes come with adjustments to our team. We did also acquire Arachnid 360’s darts business, the largest darts business in North America, and we’re quite excited about how transformative that acquisition can be for TouchTunes. Our business is growing, through both our jukebox business and our new darts business, and while our reorganization and our acquisition both happened earlier this year, both are reflections of that growth, not otherwise correlated. I appreciate knowing how you interpreted the timing, and your impression of our leadership team, because that will help us more clearly communicate with our teams in the future. And I wish you the best of luck with your next opportunity.

Pros

Their products are really exciting

Cons

It pays way below the market. High stress, bad people management skills and unrealistic and demanding employee and project review process. A lot of overpromises on bonuses. Not worth it.

I want to thank you for sharing your thoughts. So often, people don’t, and then we don’t have an opportunity to learn from the feedback. On a positive note, I’m glad you find our products exciting. That’s a big reason why many people, myself included, are at TouchTunes. I’m sorry to hear, however, that your experience has been so negative so far. I urge you to raise your concerns with our HR team or even with me personally. We want our employees to get a fair compensation deal and we work hard to make that happen – including achieving our bonus targets for 2023 and fully funding our most recent bonus pool (as we have done every year since COVID). Our HR team can also help address your concerns regarding a high-stress environment and our performance management processes. We want to make sure that our team has what it needs to achieve great things and we’re happy to lean in to figure that out for you here. Thanks, Ross
