Pros

The coworkers were honestly fantastic.

Cons

Management sucks. They lied about the pay. They said that I would get around 55k per year. Accepted the position and was only paid 42k per year. They make you pay for your own parking in the city without reimbursement which makes it impossible to work here without having around $150 per month used for JUST parking! Their healthcare coverage is horrible. They take half of your paycheck for coverage that is laughable. I ended up paying for almost everything out of pocket. Along with this, the CEO is a joke. He struts around hitting on girls 20 years younger then him and will only talk to anyone else if they watch sports. The managers aren't much better. I felt like I always had to be looking behind me because they monitor every little thing you do. I felt like a cog in a machine and if I wasn't working fast enough for management, I would get reprimanded and have to track every little step in my workflow with an excel sheet and a stopwatch. Stay as far away as you can! It is not worth selling your soul to the devil to work here!!!!

Pros

Honestly none besides some of the people you work with.

Cons

This place is a hot mess. They hire in bulk because they know that more than half of the new hires will quit within the first few months. They put you through about a week of training and then give you 100 customers right off the bat. ( majority of the customers are already mad about something before they even come to you because they realize how much of a scam this company is and they are tired of having a new DMS every month.) The training we receive is very deceiving, they exaggerate all of their numbers and lie about the actual performance of the company to make the new hires excited, since they know how burnt out everyone will become. The trainer I had was incredibly unprofessional and was drinking alcohol during the training….. if that wasn’t my red flag, I don’t know what was. Once you actually start working, you realize how bad the product is. I felt bad when I’d talk to my customers because I knew this product wasn’t helping them at all and I had the numbers and data to prove it but I had to basically lie to people or beg people to stay on. Also the teams here ( content, web designers, etc) are so unorganized and there is no urgency to get anything done. I once had a customer who requested two new pages of content. After 3 months and me reaching out to the content team every other day, the new pages still weren’t written….. my customer was furious and cursed me out because of someone else being lazy and not caring because they aren’t client facing. The people at townsquare take no accountability on anything they do. Once the content team finally got the pages up on the customers website, there were literally so many errors and typos on the website it was insane. I had to go back in myself and fix it before the customer saw it because it’s honestly just flat out embarrassing. I had to take time out of my day to do someone else’s job( a job they took 3 months to complete)This literally proves that Townsquare will hire anyone. You all should honestly be ashamed with the business you are running. We all know your only still around because you have a multi million dollar parent company backing you up.

We are a drug and alcohol-free work environment and any violation of this policy should have been reported to our HR department in real-time so that the appropriate measures could have been taken. We're sorry to hear that you did not feel that our product helped your clients and that the processes left you frustrated. Each support team has an organized ticketing system to process requests and typically requests are completed in a very timely manner. Regarding our business value, as it pertains to our parent company, we are a key growth driver of Townsquare Media and continue to see subscription and revenue growth and YOY. Hope you continue to enjoy your new job, best of luck,

Pros

I honestly don’t have one nice thing to say about this sweat shop. It was the worst place I ever worked.

Cons

It’s awful. Seriously. Stay away. There’s a few reps that have been here for years and get fed leads and accounts. You’ll be able to pick them out within a couple weeks. The managers are awful. They only help their favorites. They’re all super young and have no idea what they’re doing. FYI if you got promoted because you were great at closing leads that were handed to you by the boss you were probably blowing, you probably don’t know how to lead a team to success. Townsquare’s major problem is they think they signing up as many people as possible will grow them. No, keeping your current employees will help you grow. You lose time constantly having to hire and train new people. Townsquare has been talking about growing for years. Yet I’m pretty sure they haven’t grown that much. Nothing exciting. Nothing extraordinary. They win best places to work every year because they force their favorites to fill out surveys. Also if you read all the reviews on this site all the “good” ones were posted on the same exact day and say the same stuff. Hmm coincidence? I think not. Isn’t that illegal? Just stay away from here unless you’re absolutely desperate because they will hire anyone. Trust me. Then get what you need and run as fast as you can.

We're sorry to hear that this was your experience at Townsquare Interactive. Our environment certainly isn't a "sweat shop" and we are proud to help young leaders develop their careers and find their own management style. We do provide extensive training to our new hires, and continue to develop and train our employees to give them the tools to excel, and have never felt this was a loss of our time. To your point about our growth, we've just celebrated our fifth anniversary in business and share our company health metrics in full transparency to our employees. We've gone from 30 employees to over 300, having helped thousands of small business owners since 2012. Our survey for Best Places to Work goes to each and every employee in our organization and it is their choice to participate in the survey. Again, we're sorry that you had a less than pleasant experience with our organization.
