The decline the sales org has seen in the last year with the new leadership team is very disappointing. I use to love my job but as of recently it is a struggle to even get through the day.
Upper management preaches about wanting a high performing sales culture yet does not nothing to drive the engagement of the team. All of the fun has been taken out of the sales org and all we get is feedback about how we aren’t hitting the unrealistic KPIs. Upper management seems very out of touch with reality.
KPIs and sales targets are unrealistic and unobtainable with the current problems the business is facing with the market. There has been constant feedback from the sales team on what isn’t working yet there has been no progress on the issues. The entire sales process is broken and doesn’t set the Account Executive team up for success. One person can get credit for a sale and when that account cancels less than 6 months later a totally different rep takes the cancel. Then the same person who signed them up can get credit again if that dealers resigns up. Such a joke. The two sales team have very different goals which causes them to work against each other causing a divide between the two teams. There is no accountability for what is being sold.
All of the people that made this place special are gone - whether that be via a layoff or resignation. I am very concerned about the state of this sales org and what it will look like in the coming months. I understand the need to perform and push a team but when the majority of your team isn’t hitting goals there may be a problem with your process or goals. At this point you are expecting reps to work solely for their base pay and have pretty much removed the commission part of pay.
