Pros

Benefits, on-site workout facility, cool industry

Cons

As a relatively new employee, I am shocked that there are so few woman that work here. There doesn't seem to be any women in management. In addition, I was told that TrainingPeaks values and encourages work life balance, but I haven't seen that as a reality.

Pros

There are lots of smart, friendly and hardworking people here that are passionate about our products. We're in a nice, large building close to great bike routes and running trails. We have many great perks like flexible schedules, the ability to work out during the day, cutting edge fitness equipment, locker rooms/showers, provided snacks and drinks and really nice coffee machines. I routinely make friends jealous by telling them all of the perks TrainingPeaks provides. We have recently launched completely re-written applications as well as a website and it is really exciting to think of their potential. These new products were the result of shift in the approach the company takes in developing software which is an exciting change. I think the company is just beginning to realized the potential I imagined when I first was hired.

Cons

Defined and adhered to work processes seem like they can be a struggle sometimes although it has improved quite a bit since I started. People seem to get things done and teams work well together regardless. Overall, there is really not much to complain about here. The coconut covered cashews do get eaten pretty fast which I’m never happy about.

Smart engineers, great product, kick-ass office environment

Pros

Everybody loves the product, the industry, and their job. You won't find a grumpy employee here. Recent shift to hiring high-level senior engineers has created a great development environment full of very bright people. Pain-cave, lots of motivating athletes and competitors in the house; work-life balance is strong, however, not consistent due to the amount of work and lack of resources. Very strong benefit package, especially for families. Extremely flexible work schedule focused on team-work and achieving goals together instead of individual tasks. Great open work environment for developers drives collaboration and communication. Overall, I'm very excited to come to work every morning!

Cons

Lack of high-level vision and lack of strong high-level leadership. Lack of BA and project management experience at the executive level which translates to ad-hoc projects and products started and ended on a whim. Salary is 10-30% below market for developers, and no profit-sharing / stock options / yearly bonuses or even 401K match can be demoralizing. No employee education programs.
