Pros

Great Employee Benefits. Once a year annual sales trip for all the sales staff.

Cons

I know I've made a huge mistake. I worked for a strong competitor prior to TriNet. Left for more money and a $10K sign on bonus. TriNet continues to grow through acquisition and not organic growth. Blending employees from newly acquired companies seems to be a challenge. Each of these companies that are acquired has its own culture and pay structure. Once under the TriNet umbrella we all should be compensated fairly. Figure out a way to make this happen prior to just acquiring companies and not factoring in employees. Are these hostile takeovers? I met a lot of neat people at new hire training class. One year later more than 75% have been fired and a few have left on their own. My suggestions is to contact previous reps via LinkedIn and see what they have to say about their tenure at TriNet. Maybe contact 20 or so across the country. Encourage them to be candid so you can make an informed decision. Here's the real deal - TriNet hire reps to populate SalesForce then fire them right around the 1 year mark. Initially it seems like this is the best job - a lot of flexibility, autonomy, generous expense account, etc. But the honey moon ends right around the 9 month mark. There is no ramp up period either. PECs (TriNet SOI) are treated much differently- red headed step child! They are compensated much different too: TriNet Passport has a $74k base + one year commission payouts. Ex: $12,0000 commission check paid out over a one year period for 1 year. TriNet SOI has a $60k base + 5 year commission payout. Ex: $12,000 commission check paid out over one year for 5 years.

Pros

Great employee benefits and technology.

Cons

A lot of turnover with new employees. They are enticed with decent salaries and a sign on bonus of $9k. Looks attractive but you must generate your own leads. Slow sales cycle and commission structure is horrible for PECs. You don't get your full commission upfront. It's divided into equal payments for 1 year. The company recently implemented a mentor/mentee program. Your first 5 deals must be split with a mentor. Unrealistic expectations your first year (almost unattainable). This position is treated as a payroll sales position. Therefore, information entered into the CRM (SalesForce) is inaccurate and garbage. The weekly metrics are 5 FM (first meetings). To get off the radar folks enter bad leads into the CRM. Garbage in then garbage out. Get the picture?

Pros

Good benefits, competitive compensation package

Cons

where do I start? This company has just gone public and leading up to it you are nothing but a number in order to drive the IPO and the stock price. No support, high turnover among senior leadership and sales reps. Mass hiring to see what sticks while operations is completely overwhelmed. These guys will cash in their stock options in 6 months and be gone...watch. TriNet is a PEO and for some reason Wall Street says its a payroll clound provider? Competing with ADP and Workday. Not even close. Trinet provides ONLY one product and it is an all or nothing HR solution with limited flexibility.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback on Glassdoor. We appreciate all former and current employee reviews. In recent years, we have experienced tremendous growth – and some growing pains. For even the most tenured sales person, the PEO sale can be difficult due to complexity. Thank you for your contribution as an employee and we wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.
