Pros

I felt appreciated as an employee from the top down, and not only through words but by my supervisors' actions. It was a positive and supportive work environment. Opportunity to move up within the company. Not a meat grinder like big banks... My guess is the nay sayers are unhappy with their current job as well.

Cons

Maybe a little higher pay rate Not a branch near my new location (or I would still be an employee)

Pros

If you want to be rewarded for working hard this is the place for you. If you want to be a lazy order taker then work somewhere else (I see about a dozen people took that advice). Smart and hardworking management team. Excellent benefits and incentive plan. Member focused. You only do something if it benefits the members. CEO is top notch and professional. Senior management also very approachable. The people on here who are tearing the pace apart obviously had other issues. No one does anything if our members do not benefit. And it is a not for profit organization not a non-profit. There is a difference and a good employee would know the difference. If you want to put your best foot forward then please join our team. If you want to coast by then don't.

Cons

You're expected to be professional and work hard. Not a con for everyone but I see people struggle. Dress code is professional as well. Yes the majority of the senior managers came from the same bank. But they have driven TruStone to new levels. Why wouldn't this place that was stagnant six years ago have a complete makeover? Proof is in the success and happiness of the membership. 100,000 members and counting.

Demoralizing Environment

Pros

If you prefer to be an individual contributor, are motivated by incentives and money, are able to persuade and get into the "good ol' boys" club- this may be a company you can tolerate working for. Admittedly, the wages are comparable to other financials and banks- if you can sell products and services without regard for the well being of your members- you'll stand to make good commission. However, it's every person for themselves. It is a sales culture, if you can't perform it will impact your performance review.

Cons

The culture does not encourage support from the branch and back-office functions. The sales culture sets a clear division between departments. The SVP of Marketing is extremely difficult to work with with no regard for other employees feelings or willingness to collaborate and work cohesively with other managers or team members. Additionally, the male dominated Senior Team does not model the type of leadership worthy of following which leads to overall employee dissatisfaction. The company does not invest or encourage employee development resulting in poorly managed departments and managers who are unequipped to effectively lead a team.
