Pros

great place to start career & learn sales process. Startup culture provides all the " perks" you would expect from a Boston tech company. Technology itself and many teams outside of sales have phenomenal people and talent.

Cons

unrealistic expectations. WASP environment not open to anyone but white male, playing lacrosse/hockey. less than 10% of reps hit quotas, and management prefers turnover to development - even the most tenured are mistreated and cast aside at the drop of a dime. the few that can hit their number are give free reign- regardless of the sexist, racist, action reported to management or clearly displayed on the floor0 . IF your a white male hockey player looking to jump start your career, work long hours and drink with the same " bros" you spend 11-12 hours with this is for you. However if you do not meet these unspoken criteria, or adapt to fit this mold- do not plan to have prolonged success

We take these comments very seriously and are disheartened to hear your experience with our company. Turbonomic aims to create an environment where everyone can be successful; at the same time, we acknowledge there may be instances where this goal has fallen short. These instances are not reflective of our intentions as an inclusive, high performing company. Currently, we have plans in motion to increase inclusivity efforts across our teams. We are committed to work with our managers and employees on continuing to develop awareness and diversity of thought. We truly believe that diversity is a key component to Turbonomic’s overall success and the success of all employees.

Pros

Good marketing team., very innovative in creativity. Good in playing internal politics.

Cons

No credibility recognition. Favoritism and self-proclaimed ideology based performance evaluation. No feedback. Hidden class system within title hierarchy. False promises to exploit as much as they can and then steal credit when work is done. Totally unworthy and non-deserving managers in engineering. They can never ever be managers anywhere else (nor qualified nor capable of), thats why they are here. Too much non professional demand for respect, as if it is a king's lair. Ugh ! Grow up already ! Absolute waste of my career here. I tried as much as I could to bring good changes, but in vain. Anyone who tried and was open about it is either laid off or left. I am glad that I am finally separated from this company and its bad management. Never ever will I ever refer anyone here and in future when I grow up to be an executive or start my own company, I will always remember these people and never do business with them. Its one thing to have a bad product, but they are just bureaucratic and judgmental. I am so much happier now at work and in life. I am paid based on correct market rate, I am learning great new skills and good management. And most of all, I am respected for my talent and not for my family/friend relationship stature in the company.

Recently we’ve invested in several programs to develop our front-line managers, build career paths, clarify performance expectations and provide opportunities to recognize a job well-done. An investment in our people and the programs to make them successful and satisfied in their jobs is very important to Turbonomic. In addition, Turbonomic strives for a culture of inclusivity and respect. Reported incidents or behaviors which conflict with either one of these values are taken seriously.

Pros

If you are a recent college grad, short of options, and would like to work in Copley Square...then why not?

Cons

The place is a chop shop. They churn through college grads like you would never believe. Got to get the "employee count" up and what better way to do so by hiring 10-12 BDRs every 2 weeks. The unspoken motto is quantity over quality, ie abusive cold calling from entry level to C-level stakeholders, bullying them into meetings, and much much more! Don't let the TVs, loud music, amazing office location, etc fool you, it's a mirage. If you can find a better, non Bain-backed company, then I would implore you to go that direction.
