Culture Downhill – Now Like Any Big Tech

Pros

The company has some great employees who are collaborative and genuinely enjoyable to work with. Working arrangements can be flexible (depending on your level and role).

Cons

There is a lack of psychological safety. There’s a clear “culture of silence” where questions and candid dialogue is not welcomed. Toxic positivity is often used to dismiss legitimate concerns, and senior leadership lacks trust from employees. There is a lack of empowerment and trust in employees leading to decisions that decrease autonomy over their approach to work. The overall culture is blaming rather than supportive. There is concern that employees will be fired for posing questions or expressing alternative viewpoints. Internal advancement is rare with leadership roles often filled externally, leaving strong internal candidates overlooked. Benefits are subpar, there is no 401k match and the PTO allotment is disappointing.

Too much change too fast

Pros

Great work/life balance, can adjust your schedule/availability yourself but there are still parameters (for example not advised to have 8-9am appointments as they are not "peak hours"when most clients actually prefer these hours) Management is amazing, really supportive and understanding of their clinicians and allow you to have a voice Really good benefits, stipends, and trainings offered Easy documentation practices

Cons

Pay is not necessarily competitive, could be making a lot more somewhere else with lower case loads. Matching process is not always accurate- getting matched with clients outside of your indicated match tags which leads to client frustrations and them getting bounced around many times to different therapists. Their system for performance reviews includes client no shows and whether or not they complete outcome measures on a weekly basis, essentially affecting your raise % based on whether clients show up which is outside of our control. Limiting the amount of sessions clients can have. Goal is to graduate clients within 6 months. You then have to refer them back to their insurance providers after graduation for continued care which then leads to more confusion/miscommunications as their insurance is referring them to us for therapy services. Many clients want long term weekly therapy, since we don't offer this essentially we're leaving them without services after they graduate. And again, we're pushing them to graduate once they hit this 6 month point. This company is extremely data based. While there are many benefits to this, it doesn't account for the subjective nature of therapy and working directly with people who are struggling with various issues that are not always resolved within the limited timeline of care expected.

Time Limited Care Therapy

Business Outlook

Pros

Manageable case load, health & dental benefits, PTO plus holidays, case consultations, support from colleagues and manager, and the meaningful work with clients. The company also offers stipends for office equipment, wellness, and professional development.

Cons

Recent changes makes this telehealth company not a good fit for clients seeking long-term care, which means there’s pressure for clients to meet treatment goals. Not taking into account individual process and duration it takes to build therapeutic alliance in order to do the meaningful therapeutic work. Many clinicians are unhappy with the changes and feel their autonomy is taken away in terms of their own ability to make clinical judgment (which they are trained and licensed to do) with regard to duration of treatment as well as working with clients within their niche. What initially was pitched as a good matching system no longer feels that way and clinicians’ experience are affected (having to have more availability to see clients outside of hours they agreed on upon hire). Company emphasizes time limited care but many admitted clients present with symptoms that require extended care (high acuity cases).

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Clinicians utilize their clinical judgement to support their clients reaching individualized treatment goals. Research has shown that many of our clients see significant improvement in their symptoms in the early to mid stages of treatment. Our approach allows for continuous collaboration between our clinicians and their clients throughout a clients time in care.
