Pros

US Bank pays well compared to other entry level jobs, as well as giving pretty decent health and retirement benefits.

Cons

They usually promote from within, which means that "management" doesn't usually have experience managing people. Their software was also a piece of junk that allowed many errors to get by, it was very frustrating. Most importantly, they claim that their aim is on great customer service(hence the 5 star guarantee) but they are extremely sales driven. Daily calls from upper management asking how we are going to increase sales.

Pros

The company is very solid and has a good reputation in the financial industry. Not a lot of banks can say that right now. The people that this type of job attracts are wonderful. I have really enjoyed the people that I work with. When there is an opportunity for growth managers are very proactive in promoting from within. There are always opportunities to take on more responsibility. This is a great place to build a resume. If you are trying to get experience in a particular field, this is a great solid company to have on your resume. Overall I would have to say the best thing about U.S. Bank is the people.

Cons

The pay and benefits do not match the level of responsibility or the tasks that many are asked to complete. Many people in my family work or have worked for U.S. Bank and I can say across the board that they have been underpaid for the level of work that is expected. Especially in an exempt position like a Branch Manager or other managerial type of positions. The leadership is at best inconsistent and it seems that a lot of the polocies are made up as they go. It would be nice to see a company the size of U.S. Bank invest more in the employees as they are the ones who make the difference in profits and customer retention.

Pros

Economy, always hiring because they can not keep people. A person can gain experience making sales calls to businesses. Other than that, I really do not have a good reason to work for US Bank. Most branches are under staffed and underpaid so it is hard to accomplish what is needed without working 60 hours a week.

Cons

They do not pay for performance. Most branches are under staffed and underpaid so it is hard to accomplish what is needed without working 60 hours a week. Upper management does not spend time in branch nor have they worked in branches. Most have gotten promotions from other divisions, a major lack of knowledge from management.
