Pros

The exposure you are given to interesting issues and people is unparalleled. You are expected to develop quickly and show initiative, which is tremendous learning opportunity for someone new in his or her career.

Cons

There are limited mentorship opportunities and certainly no career development program. This is not the case with personal offices. It's very much an up or out culture.

Pros

It was an active place to work that had me involved on a daily basis, even though I was an intern.

Cons

Staff there are overworked and underpaid, and junior staff sometimes aren't looped in on important decisions that are made by the office.

Pros

Great experience, great people and can be a lot of fun.

Cons

The hours are long at times and there can be a great deal of pressure. Some of the personalities are shall we say interesting.
