Pros

It's a job and it has a paycheck

Cons

No longer a desirable place to work. The culture is now toxic with the employee being no longer valued as they once were. Voice of the employee is pointless anymore. Culture is toxic but they want you in the office now to drown in it. There was one an even balance between employees and members but now the employee is no longer as important. Customer service has been suffering for a few years because they no longer understand the importance of taking care of the employees so they can take care of members. DE&I is a farce here. It's on paper but they don't practice it in ANY way!

Cons

Incompetent middle management and execs Outsiders have changed corporate culture over past couple years and USAA is just another company Cost cutting and layoffs is the current strategy Promo cycle has been reduced to once a year, don't come here unless you get an amazingly well paid position, future career growth is unlikely Must go to office 3 days a week this year and 4 days 2024.

Pros

The pay is HIGHLY competitive, and great benefits (ie, they pay for your schooling immediately upon start date).

Cons

back to back calls, weekly 30+ minute coachings where they tell you how you can improve and listen to a call you’ve had ( this gets super old super quick when you’re told the same thing weekly or when you finally feel like you have the hang of it, they tell you how you don’t) some seniors and managers are toxic (you won’t know until you’re randomly paired with a senior and placed on a team if you have a good group or a toxic one) unless you are a die hard military person I wouldn’t work here because you really have to kiss a** to all these super entitled military folk and with every call thank them for their service and call them by their rank, you’re given unreachable goals and if you don’t meet their goal monthly it’s MORE coachings and hearing how you’re basically sucking at your job.
