Pros

Product that works and in demand by the market Benefits that are good.

Cons

You have destroyed the culture of our company by hiring certain folks from GE who have betrayed your trust. (to CEO) Customer success team is a disaster under this person's leadership and since moved to another organization mess is getting cleaned up...(Feel sorry for the other team through) Stop lying to the company. You just announce layoffs and don't even say who will be impacted and by how much? CEO time to shine and was an utter failure...leadership is not sending an opaque message of the state of the company and one quarter of so called "higher cash burn" is not a reason for layoffs.. IPO is at least 2-3 years away...don't hold your breath...

BEWARE - Worst career MISTAKE - B players hiring C players

Pros

CEO has a good heart Product / space is interesting

Cons

Terrible, old school, arrogant, incompetent & insecure people were hired in the US. B players then hired C players... The incompetent people look out for each other leaving you questioning your own sanity. "Maintainers" don't know how to build & scale. Combine that with a hiring spree of 1000 people in a year and you've got a complete disaster. Its not the typical "messiness" of a start up. It's rotten to the core due to the people and not sure if salvageable at this point. Not a tech company! People send static power points and excel files around like it's the 90's. Don't be fooled by the snacks. You'll be using outlook. Don't dismiss the red flags during the interview process! It will be obvious. Don't let trajectory from the past lure you into thinking it can continue... with a team like this they will not live up to the sky high valuation... The cultural value of "humbleness" is more often used as an excuse for poor performance or to shut down constructive feedback.

Pros

Hard working colleagues and friends

Cons

No job is perfect. Every position in any company has its fair share of corporate politics and BS. However, hiring a bunch of smart and talented individuals, then failing to implement structure, clear policies or goals will inevitably fail. It’s also a waste of expensive talent. To be agile, you can’t be sloppy, you need to be organized with a clear vision. How can you have clarity if you don’t have transparency or established goals for your departments? How can you advise clients to scale better, be more efficient and agile when your own house is a mess? Do anything by all means necessary to IPO is not a strategy. Stop the unnecessary expense and per diem to fly, wine and dine your favorite employees. This behavior is not contributing positively to the culture or the business.
