We're passionate about celebrating your dedication and hard work. UMA is a better place because of people like you. Thank you! Maya Angelou said, "Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud." And I think that each day our admissions team is that first sight of a rainbow after a long day of rain for our students. You all offer a positive outlook filled with aspirations!

Pros

The people you meet are a great bunch if you're on the right team. The money.

Cons

Not only does the management suck but the company itself is a SCAM! Basically what they do is target people who haven't done anything with their lives who are 30+ and they emotionally manipulate them into signing up for school. The ONLY positive thing is that if you don't do you Financial Aid documents you wont be charged. But the reason why they are a scam is because two months in they offer these people with no job, no money, and family more money for loans. So instead of paying 16,000 - 26,000 they are coming out with a debt of 50,000 - 80,000. I have worked for multiple school and I have never seen such shady behavior from the company itself. On to the actual job. Your goal is to sign up 25 people and get AT LEAST 8 of them to start but what happens is these student realize they were being manipulated or they have buyers remorse and they NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE AGAIN. So only like 3 people on a team of 35 hit the 8 people start budget.. The most people on my team of 35/40 that I saw hit the 25 enrollments budget is 5. So yes you can do the job but doing the job requires emotional manipulation. They ACTUALLY say "Nobody has ever made these people feel as special as you will when you listen to them (and basically) act like you care" IN TRAINING!!!!! Then there are the people who hit budget who tell themselves that it'sokay what they're doing because out of the 8 people who start 1 or 2 will actually continue with their education. Management is a JOKE! Some of the managers sleep around with employees and give them special treatment. And if you're a man all the women transfer calls to you hoping to get something in return (if you know what I mean) its ridiculous!!!! On my team there was a lot of favoritism to the men from both managers. They would actually transfer leads (which is usually a guaranteed start) to the men on the team to get something in return. Also if you are on top they encourage you to do bad things that are not legal or they show you loop holes in the system. But only if you're a favorite. Honestly it's 3 months of $16/hr pay but if you last longer than a year it would be a miracle. People who have been working there for 3+ years say that they hate their job they just do it to support their family. It's not worth the drama and stress I could say so much more but just thinking about working there gives me hives.

Hi former admissions team member: It's very clear by all the incorrect comments in your review that you were part of the Academy for a very short time and that you were very unhappy with your role and experience. I will wish you all the best as you pursue your passion, find work that is rewarding and meaningful, and focus your energy on doing good. None of our programs produce student loans at anywhere near the amount you are stating. The Academy continues to provide educational opportunities at very competitive pricing, a statement I can support with independent 3rd party data. Additionally, UMA boasts exceptional outcomes when it comes to retention, graduation rates and job placement. We are proud of our amazing success at changing lives and providing our national employment partners with skilled graduates that are immediately able to contribute meaningfully in the workplace. Best wishes to you on your pursuits.

Never compromise your morals, because that only leads to quarrels. Always think towards tomorrow rather than basking in plain sorrow. Be brave, be bold, be kind, be wise. I'm sorry to hear you did not succeed, but it wasn't meant to be... Good luck on your next chapter, may your attention it capture.
