Pros

Ummm… they pay on time? (For now!)

Cons

Notice a trend here? An ex employee leaves an honest review and the president/owner does one of a few things. If he doesn’t force Glassdoor to take the review down, he either blames the former employee for not being a “good cultural fit” or offers to have a conversation about to the review after the fact. Why wasn’t there an exit interview? As an ex-employee, I can honestly say it’s because they couldn’t care less about their employees. This company has a perpetual revolving door because there is 0 training and they constantly focus on what everyone is doing wrong instead of speaking to what is done right and executing on a plan to improve what needs it most. Their value “dive in and swim” is a sugar-coated way of saying “your job description means nothing. Learn to do what we want you to do on your own with 0 training”. Another trend to notice here is the positive reviews from current employees always come after a couple bad reviews from ex-employees. Coincidence? You decide. Do yourself a favor and read the reviews from formal employees, those are the only honest ones not meant as a distraction from the truth. Also look the company up on LinkedIn and notice the average length of employment. If you care about your sanity, don’t apply. If you need work, you’d be happier in retail or even fast food.

We have an HR department called Employee Success that focuses on training, onboarding, synthesizing employee feedback, cultural development, quarterly reviews, manager development, and more. Managers and team leaders are continuously improving their team's training programs and processes based on employee and customer feedback. We currently have a group of over 100 amazing employees as well as contractors working on our team. While we have hired a lot of bright, new people during our growth since the onset of Covid, our average tenure is 4 years, and we have quite a few team members who have been with the company for much longer (up to 28 years). We celebrate our 40th anniversary this year. While we are pained to read negative reviews, we are a very open and transparent company, and we encourage anyone concerned about these reviews to meet as many of our new and longer-term folks as possible to get a feel for our culture and the general level of happiness in the company.

Pros

Employees seemed very professional.

Cons

Interviewed with this company several times and was hired on as a Senior Account Executive. Process was very normal with all the expected paperwork. One day before I was to start work they requested I sign a non-compete agreement. On my first day I said I needed to have my sister, who is an attorney, look it over and needed a couple of more days. This seemed to be okay with management. After the first day of work and training was complete and I was at home they called me and fired me. Reason, I was not engaged enough during the training. I did not ask enough questions. I was very engaged and asked several questions. Needless to say, this was quite a surprise. I think it is much more likely that they fired me after only one day because I did not sign the non-compete they sprung on me at the last minute. Proceed with caution should you accept a position with UnifiedCommunications.com.

Pros

They want to do the right thing they just don't know how to. There are some great people and talent. Great industry with growth potential.

Cons

Top leadership micro manages which starts from the very top and tricles down. Toxic environment. People are just surviving.
