Pros

I am a animal lover so I thought this would be a great opportunity for me but things changed really quick. I got to know our clients and pets and working with them was great. Management was very new and I was told things when I began but things changed and I was doing it all on my own and I will tell you it wasn't easy at all.

Cons

The very first day I started I got bit in the face pretty bad then a week later I got bit again. I was nervous at first but I did catch on quick and I liked it. I also got dragged down on the concrete by bringing up two dogs to go home and I got really hurt, My face was bad and hurt my knee badly. I stayed there because I thought I could handle it but when management started working me by myself when I was told there would always be two people working up front and like I said things changed quick then I was alone up front trying to handle everything. I am a very hard worker and I care for my job that's just who I am. I feel like sometimes the hard workers don't get recognized for it. I just felt like I was not respected there at all.

Pros

Good benefits. Medical, vision, dental. 401k with small % matched. Two weeks vacation. Gave covid pay during the pandemic for anyone who was high risk or sick. Double pay overtime during the pandemic.

Cons

VCA technically paid double time overtime, but we were not allowed to go into overtime. We would get in trouble if we did. The staff was given no raise for two years because "VCA had gave covid pay and double time pay for overtime"... But no one got overtime, and a small fraction of staff was able to use the covid pay. VCA is a money hungry corporation.

Pros

There are no pros in my opinion

Cons

Poor salary, poor work/life balance, poor management, poor support system, poor policies. Working here was my biggest regret.
