Pros

I don't have a lot of pros since my return back in October 1,2023 but I am grateful to have a job

Cons

The weekday supervisor is very lazy especially when we are short staffed on days that we have heavier workloads, communication is still very poor.....it has gotten worse since my comeback to Central Supply, the newer staff members are confused and frustrated and the older workers like myself and others are bending over backwards to make sure we give it our best each and every day, and the huddles(most of them) are a waste of time especially when we are struggling with our own work(and other people's work) when we are stretched thin with just 14 people vs when we had 20 or more people on Day Shift and the 2 other shifts as well, to me it just seems like it's more work to do. I kind of regret coming back to Central Supply, the management expects us to make it to the huddle at 12:15pm everyday even when were short staffed, the gossiping and bullying had also gotten worser as well since my return and micromanagement and favoritism is at a all time high, it's so much more I want to say but that's all I have for now.

Pros

Not very much anymore. Since the new CEO took over, there hasn't been any air conditioning in the hospital for any staff. Jerry rigged units with asbestos-lined tubing is spewing out asbestos in nurses stations. No one will know because it takes 20-50 years to get mesothelioma. Supplies are non-existent. Gloves are thin and cheap. Water and ice makers are not cleaned unless the water gets moldy. Cockroaches and bedbugs are rampant. No contact with pest control. They only spray when called about bugs. Brand new Ultrasound machines sit broken due to canceling service contract. Maintenance workers fired. Biomed fired. Everything is contracted out. Holter monitor contracted out to a company that uses unlicensed workers in India to read long-term EKGs

Cons

Lowest pay in the area. Put in lots of time, but new grads get paid more. Management has their favorites. You will get railroaded out if you're not a favorite. Very acutely ill patients and little time to provide them with proper care. Management doesn't care about experience. They just want a warm body.

Pros

You build great relationships with your co workers

Cons

The department merged with radiology. The New management and supervisors are horrible. None of them know what they are doing and are very lazy. The supervisors do not know how to talk to the employees .They all sit in the office and do nothing even when we are busy and short staffed. They find things wrong and try to fire you. All the supervisors are very incompetent there was a weekend supervisor that literally harassed people to do his work and did absolutely nothing with 1 or 2 people working the weekend and we needed his help. This department went downhill since the new manager came.
