Incompetent Leadership. Company in decline

Pros

If you're good at your job and you fight for a pay increase, you might get it down the road.

Cons

Every initiative that I saw was aimed at making operations APPEAR better when in actuality they made things worse. For example: newly implemented computer applications forced employees to spend more time on their computers rather than in their plants. The result was that the plants safety and operations deteriorated, but data was more visible and centralized to the higher ups. They touted their initiatives as a success even as injury rates and sales/profit metrics deteriorated. Very little accountability for those in the ivory tower that is Omaha.

Pros

Pay and benefits are competitive for the region. Work hours are somewhat flexible depending on what department you work and who your supervisor is

Cons

Too much longevity at the site that leads to stagnation and people very resistant to change. Several office departments are self focused and don't realize how their actions affect others down the line. Communication overall is poor. Not much room for advancement. Too many positions at this site are one person experts, no cross training and no backup if people need time off

Pros

Insurance and no other jobs in area available. This place spends lots of money on things for management and the yes boys. They have new air conditioners new desk and a new chair every time they don't like how the old one sits.

Cons

They won't fix what's broken unless someone gets hurt. New equipment needed but if a golf cart breaks down, that's what gets fixed first. The paging system was down and we had complained for months. But when someone had a heart attack on the floor and the only person with a defibrillator couldn't hear the page the paging system was fixed that very day. That's the way it always is. Someone has to get hurt on the floor or die to get something fixed. Their safety program is the worst in the business. A lot is hidden. Environmental is also another story. They cover spills with dirt instead of cleaning it up. I could go on and on.
