Vaya Health reviews

As previous posters stated, Vaya Health is an insurance company for the state of NC, Medicaid. Vaya originally only served Metal health and substance abuse coverage, but now have taken on the task of total medical coverage. This means that they must create all new software, processes, reports… in accordance with the state of NC. Again, as previous posters have stated, Vaya bit off a little more that they can handle. Vaya also acquired the larger company Cardinal Innovations to make matters even more stressful. Cardinal was much more organized, and the Cardinal employees are struggling to adapt. A lot of Cardinal upper management have already let willingly for better opportunities. Vaya cannot keep employees due to the amount of work that must be completed and the unreasonable deadlines. The amount of stress on the employees is evident on any Teams meetings that you attend. Vaya seems to be learning as they go along. No one seems to know the big picture, and some of the employees are the most unfriendly you will ever work with. Upper management does not the business background to properly guide the expanding company. They all have medical, or social work backgrounds.

The pay is a joke, the insurance they offer is not that great, it's a huge burden on your vehicle, management has their favourites that they talk to and hang out with after hours, executive leadership get exceptions from the state for a higher pay but they offer the IDD Care Coordinators peanuts and act like we should be grateful for it. Also, there are a lot of women in managerial positions but I think that's only for the sole purpose of making them look like some new age, liberal, "equality focused" employer. There is no consistency throughout different departments that rely on each other so you spend a lot of time arguing via email with other departments about your responsibilities. They say you have the option to work from home-for most its impossible. They think because they spent millions on a office renovation people will want to be at the office more but money dont fix the culture at the office. You will get promised a raise and then called a liar so KEEP all of your communications with management and HR. You arent allowed to have a 2nd job without approval from HR (you will get denied if it's in the same field). Honestly unless they offer you a salary of 55k+ per year you would be better off working for 2 providers, or something like that. Because they also give you obscene amounts of work and expect you to get it done within 40hrs or they start to micro manage you.
