Pros

Good people. Smart crews. Lots of new work

Cons

Company as a whole does not know how to come up with solution. They sell solution and communication which ironically are avoided within the company. Busy guys are too busy and losing life at home. Others have no job, and have sleepless night every day worrying about tomorrow. They keep talking about changes in market, but they don't see the changes they are rolling out in company bring utter failure in efficiency and unhappiness to employees. I do not know anyone who is not looking for job. Had huge hope in company in beginning, but now I see it's going on the same path as other IT firms that tried different markets and failed. Theres no yearly raise. You have to beg for it. How could they not know if the employees ask for raise he/she is ready to leave? Job design and communication with customer and vector field guys are disastrous. They keep looking for blaming, but it's time to overhaul. Company has decided to shake things up, but it's all about controlling and punishing workers. They should look into making communication mandatory, and making things easy for the field guys so the jobs can be done. People are leaving out of frustration mainly, not because of money.

The new work that comes into VectorUSA is largely due to the good people, smart crews and field techs who are a big part of our successes and we would not be where we are without them. No one realizes that more than me and my top managers. We appreciate the hard work and dedication from everyone. We have had some challenging projects. VectorUSA is very successful at coming up with solutions for our clients, even in the difficult and ever-changing technology integration field. To address your concerns regarding our time card system, VectorUSA has employees throughout the US working different jobs at multiple job sites, many of which do not belong to VectorUSA. Tracking time in relation to these jobs is a necessity. Whole job numbers and manual entries may seem mundane, but this is what keeps the company on track to meet our financial goals. In the meantime, we are addressing the issue of annual reviews and cost of living increases. Your feedback helps us see what issues we need to address. Great Place To Work

Pros

This privately owned company has been in business for more than 25 years and during my employment has grown from being a certified small business with a handful of employees at one location and less than $30 million in sales to a large business with over 450 employees at 5 locations and $120 million in sales. The owners have vision, understand the ever changing technology industry and the need for our company to be on the cutting edge of the latest service offerings. In addition our President is amazing with numbers and job analysis which always ensures our company is in excellent fiscal condition. Because the owners work in the office everyday good performance is recognized and hard work is rewarded. The owners are very generous, when the company does well employees receive bonuses & company picnics or holiday parties are given, they have always paid for employee HMO medical coverage (even though the cost continues to rise), employees are given movie tickets on their birthdays & their is a robust employee recognition program. They are always thinking of ways to improve morale at each of the offices and host periodic employee lunches / BBQs or implement new programs, like the kick off of our new Wellness Program starting this year. The employees are truly my favorite part of working here, I have a great bunch of co-workers, they are dedicated, hard working, knowledgeable and fun to be around. Because our owners are family oriented they understand the importance of work / life balance and the need to handle family emergencies when they arise.

Cons

Working for a privately owned company is different than working for a publicly traded company or the government, some employees who come to us from larger public companies or the government don't understand this concept and feel disappointed or unhappy. Because we are in the technology industry - an industry that is ever changing - we as a company under go a lot of change, if you are someone who doesn't deal well with change this could be a problem. In order to be more efficient & cost effective we have rules, some people have a hard time following rules and therefore view this as a negative. We do have a few new / inexperienced managers - which is good because it shows growth potential - but can be perceived as a con because they need training - which is something HR is currently rolling out. In my experience I have come to realize that you will never get along with everyone you work with 100% of the time, your ability to realize this and work towards better communication and interpersonal skills will allow you to make the most of your work relationships wherever you go.

Pros

Good people, hard-working co-workers, talented technical staff.

Cons

Work is sporadic as the sales to tech ratios are too lean. Every minute of paid time must be billed to a job which is okay when work abounds but when work is slow: the dogs fight for the scraps resulting in backstabbing politics and heinous slander as everyone is fighting for what little work that there is.

However, as with all technology integration companies, there is an ebb and flow to the work. That is why VectorUSA offers a Supplemental Unemployment Benefit Plan that provides wage replacement if work is not available to help field employees and their families get through the lean times. VectorUSA also prides itself in hiring from within – and we often offer education/training assistance with certification programs to assist with personnel development.
