Pros

I started working at Verkada 2.5 months ago which is not long but I can already say that I loved it here starting not even from day 1 but from the first round of my interview process. The recruiting and EA team was just so great and supportive all the way until I came to the office. The environment here is just right for anyone who has creative ides and wants to bring them to life. At Verkada you have the right tools and supportive team to help you do so. I also love our office. Plus we are constantly rethinking the way we can make our workspace better so it aligns with the employees' needs and feels like a place where you want to return. Verkada office is conveniently located next to the CalTrain station and all the nearby restaurants, coffee shops, gym, parking lot. The company provides catering, snacks and drinks on site which I think is a great benefit. Also during this challenging times Verkada does covid testing on site for all employees to make sure we stay healthy here. You can see Verkada constantly appearing in different top ratings of the best startups to work at, and this is true! It is exciting to be in a company with such a solid product, nice culture, great people that you can lean on and learn from and just see yourself grow individually and with the team.

Cons

none (wish there was an office in SF but that's the only disadvantage ahaha)

Pros

Peers at Verkdada are genuine and thoughtful. The workplace team tries hard to make the office fun. The in-person life is only bearable because of the free lunch and snacks. Commuter benefits of $200 for FTEs are also decent, but usually do not cover the full cost of commuting.

Cons

Many of us who don’t live in San Mateo county commute at least two hours a day. That’s roughly 40 extra hours a month just to sit under HQ’s fluorescent lights. Yes, they feed you—but after weeks of commute exhaustion, it really starts to make a hybrid setup feel reasonable. The frustrating part is that VPs expect five days a week in the office, while they themselves average two. And if you need to work from home for even a day, you’re made to feel guilty for it. At times, the mandatory five-day in-person policy feels more like a way to use employees as free test subjects for their cameras than a collaboration.

Pros

Good snack options in the office

Cons

Hostile and aggressive environment. Constant layoffs and under performers. Unrealistic quotas and managers are super verbally abusive.
