Pros

The residents are wonderful and fulfilled my need for a sense of purpose in my work.

Cons

In my former role I consulted with hundreds of companies, so I understand culture and company dynamics. I lasted 53 days at Vi and it was the worst job experience of my life. This is mostly because of bad fit (despite extensive pre-offer testing) but offers a cautionary tale. Vi @Silverstone showed no interest in my input or ideas; I was ostracized for efforts to contribute. If you are entrepreneurial, innovative or have independent thoughts, sales at Vi is probably not the role for you.

Pros

The company does an excellent job recognizing employees that believe in the mission statement and core values of the business. They make sure you know that your work is appreciated and meaningful. I love that each position in the company has a purpose and at the end of the day everyone did their job for the amazing residents who live here. The benefits and learning opportunities are also amazing! The amount of tuition reimbursement that is offered is mind-blowing. Everyone has access to a free online learning system to take thousands of classes. The management wants people to grow within the company and give them the tools to become leaders within the organization.

Cons

There is a sense that accountability for the upper level managers is not held to the same standard as other positions.

Pros

The benefits are awesome - medical and dental are better than any company I've worked for and better than any other company I've interviewed with. 401k matching plan is really generous. PTO plan is generous too. I know a lot of people get promoted here (I did) so I think there are good opportunities to work towards supervisor and management roles. Management development program also available and lots of people who do that get promoted.

Cons

Some residents can be challenging but I've learned that is part of working in this business. It is not for everyone but can be very rewarding to help an angry or frustrated older person.
