      Hierarchical, Patriarchal and hypocritical.

      Pros

      Nice campus, some very dedicated employees.

      Cons

      No surprise for a conservative, Catholic institution. Aside from the above, women face a particular challenge. The University makes a great show of "participatory" management, but it is top down, with major decisions made without true collaboration and input. The lack of unethical and amoral behavior, and complete lack of appropriate response is tough on morale. Too many people are too comfortable looking the other way. Last place in the world I would advice a woman faculty member to work.

      Pros

      Dynamic college atomosphere. Tons of vacation and flex days during summer

      Cons

      IT Department does not support change. PMO is in name only. Students are not getting their dollar value when it comes to IT support. Compensation is 40K less than corporate.

      - Great co-workers and perks - Beautiful campus - Overall I really enjoyed working there

      Cons

      - President's handling of back-to-campus plan in midst of Covid-19 was a disaster. Staff and faculty received different and conflicting info at last minute and were expected to come back on campus full-time for a week and THEN get tested the following week. Testing occurred in a crowded gymnasium. The whole thing really made no sense. - Lack of telecommuting/schedule flexibility - HR tends to be ultra-conservative and untrusting of employees (they even question sick days/you are sometimes asked to provide a doctor's note) - Villanova doesn't recognize domestic partnerships, a major equity issue. - Leadership is a very mixed bag and largely depends on department/school. Many departments/school heads are either given too much power or very little (very inconsistent) - Compensation tends on the low side - Many building facilities are dilapidated
