Pros

This is a very positive & upbeat atmosphere that is fostered by the company's mission to not only treat animals ethically, but also it's stakeholders. Working for a B Corp certified organization comes with many advantages, the least of which is going beyond the minimum standards to ensure your crew's well being as part of the bottom line focus. Vital Farms lives up to its mission statement & the brand is more than a product, it's an all encompassing culture. HQ is a conveniently located, with minimal traffic influx from any direction & plenty of free parking. There is a fully stocked kitchen with all the eggs you can eat, snacks & drinks, along with catered lunch once a week & hosted quarterly offsite events. Most positions offer a generous level of autonomy & the office vibe is definitely Austin casual.

Cons

This is a small, fast paced, fast tracked, fast evolving company... if you're looking to get lost in an organization that is old fashioned & slow, you'll be disappointed.

Pros

I work in the headquarters office in Austin. Everyone is an expert in what they do, many from much bigger companies. We all joined Vital Farms to be part of something we personally believe in and professionally enjoy. I have been here two years and find a fantastic balance of big company resources and talent with small startup speed and creativity. It is fantastic.

Cons

You have to be a confident self-starter in a small scrappy culture. Lots of room to influence and make an impact but you have to raise your voice and be passionate. And it isn't a big company so many things are nebulous. Not much process or structure. I like that a lot but it isn't for everyone.

Pros

Free lunches once a week, casual atmosphere, a bit of flexibility. Convenient commute to SE Austin.

Cons

Extremely high turnover rate. Self-absorbed C-suite. Obsessed with having the “right people on the bus” yet oblivious to the fact that the driver might be the one careening off the cliff. Lack of diversity at HQ.
