Pros

Mike is a great CEO. The work environment is great. Most employees seem genuinely happy to work there and many people make friends with their colleagues. The benefits are amazing. The 401K match is phenomenal and the HSA contribution is 100% employer paid. They also give every employee a generous amount of time off. Every month the activities committee puts on a company wide event and this tends to boost morale. Upper management genuinely cares about the happiness of the employees, but changes are slow to happen. (like in most corporate environments) The holidays are a great time at MedAmerica. There are many different opportunities to win gift cards and other gifts. The holiday party is fun.

Cons

MedAmerica tends to promote people to management without deciding whether that person would be a good manager. They also restructure fairly often. (due to the growth) Instead of paying more for seasoned employees, they hire young, inexperienced, recent college grads who they can pay way less. This causes very high turnover as many of these hires are now finding work elsewhere. (most employees are under 26) They are lean on staffing. Most employees feel overworked and will do the work of 2-3 people. But they don't know anything different so they stay. Once they realize they are being overworked for the amount they are getting paid, they leave. The client, CEP America, is made up of physicians who do not understand the corporate side. They tend to have unreasonable expectations of the MedAmerica employees. And since the client is always right, management holds their employees to these unreasonable expectations.

Pros

Some of the benefits are nice, but you will still pay a good portion for healthcare. PTO is one of the best, and Good 401K.

Cons

A group that is focused on cranking through numbers, so they can see dollar signs, that they won't appropriately share with you even though you are making a ton for them. As a PA you will predominantly be disrespected and treated as only a body to crank though the high volume of complaints, and will spend the majority of your shift in a triage box cranking through the patients with a usually grumpy nurse, who will take hours to medicate your patient, and complain every day. Generally they are miserable. Low Pay in comparison to the market value, and they dont appreciate you or ever talk about the positives, everything is negative. They will constantly throw productivity at you, question your every move, and always imply that you suck. Good luck to you if you want to embark on this nightmare!

Pros

Regular business hours Holiday pay Vacation Sick time Weekends off Amazing 401k -The Human Resources department at MedAmerica is amazing, friendly, and professional.

Cons

Wage Not for career minded people The supervisors in Patient Services gossip Favoritism MICRO MANAGEMENT! -No matter how talented the individual, the micromanager/supervisors hovers to ensure that every detail is done the way he or she would do it (even if it's done wrong). Poor position training -you'll have 3 different supervisors training you 3 different ways to do your job. Poor structure. Supervisors need to clearly define roles & responsibilities. Patient Services Supervisors are incompetent -They need for formal training and education.
