Great mission, poor execution

Pros

Lots of holidays off, free food is brought in often, strong sense of purpose.

Cons

Lack of training material, wasn't sure who to go to with questions. Insurance has a high deductible and higher premium than I'm used to. I requested disability accommodations and was denied without any conversation or interactive process as outlined in ADA. I was then terminated two days later citing the symptoms of my disability as reason.

Great people, but…

Pros

Some of the most dedicated co-workers I’ve ever had. Everyone is kind and understanding, and people are all here because they care about the work being done. The office environment is genuinely very welcoming and supportive. PTO is relatively decent as well.

Cons

Public health is not a lucrative career path in general, but the pay here is extremely low given the importance of this work. Surviving on this salary is nearly impossible (actually impossible—I would not be able to do it without a partner contributing to the bills). Incentives and gifts given by corporate recently included a reusable plastic straw and some highlighters. Upper management also puts little thought into the lives of regular workers with their site-wide decisions. We are often given extra work, or told to come to work despite hazardous conditions outside. Meanwhile, they are able to work safely and comfortably from home. Higher level HR representatives are also slow to respond and unhelpful. It’s always “I will look into it,” which never comes with a follow-up. Perhaps they are over-worked and under-paid as well, and need to be given proper resources to help the rest of the staff.

Thank you for your response. We're happy to hear that you appreciate your coworkers' dedication to our mission. We do regret to hear your concerns around pay. Vivent Health puts forth great effort to ensure market-competitive compensation through rigorous data analysis and industry comparison. We work hard to balance the needs of our employees with the needs of our clients and patients in terms of hybrid work schedules. We will ensure your HR concern gets addressed asap. Thank you again for your comment.

Pros

Great team and atmosphere to work with people who support your professional and personal goals.

Cons

The pay is terrible. We were told that the company had taken into account living costs, but they took into account WI (main office). We do A LOT for the company and often took on other roles because we wanted to do more for the community but it started to cause burnout. There was a point where a second job was needed to make ends meet. This should not be the case when many people have higher-level degrees and are bilingual. The CEO shouldn't have a 6-figure salary when the employees doing the work can barely afford groceries.

Thank you for your feedback. At Vivent Health, we pride ourselves in ensuring our total compensation is market competitive in all our locations, including, but not limited to, Milwaukee. This current economy is certainly challenging, and we understand. We are pleased that you enjoy your work and team. We certainly do have a wonderful culture and a fulfilling mission.
