Pros

Pay is excellent, benefits excellent, time off excellent, leadership team is always available to help you even if it not about work. Has a real family feeling. I would recommend a career at Waste Management if you are looking for something that has structure and would like to be treat as a human and not a number.

Cons

Can have long hours no more than 13 in a day so not all bad because you are getting paid for that time. No other real con's.

Pros

This is probably the best mid level job available in my area and I love it. If you are fully able to do labor and you have a strong work ethic then you will love it here. The work starts off tough, but gets easier as your body adjusts. The management are all amazing and will absolutely help you and encourage you to do well and will treat you with respect as long as you work hard. This is not the job or company to be a call off slacker though so keep in mind your attendance and your efficiency. If you have strong work ethic and minimal call outs then you will do excellent here.

Cons

You are going to get bitten by bugs. You are going to get some cuts or scrapes and you will smell some horrible things, but all that doesn't happen TOO frequently. Be mindful of your surroundings and you can avoid most of the downsides. Except the bugs. The bugs are hungry and they WILL find you.

Super great company has everything it needs to be everything and more but needs someone to update the place to make it the best place to work.

Cons

$13.50 starting pay/ 40 hours/ No OT = 28k a year. If your hired Perm. No benefits for 90 days. WM hires over half its employees as temp with no benefits. Dress code nazi "no hoods, anything with hoods" not clear why hoods are a big deal. Leader don't dress like leader. Leaders on your shoulder non stop/ 4 call review a months/ calls come in without warning. (Better be ready.) Leaders with send you IM messages "why aren't you ready for a call" PHX office feels like a broom closet. Some desks can rise up and down why not make all desks. Seating all day sucks. Easy to get burnt out not because of the work load but because of the micro managing.
