Pros
Nice office, free snacks and beverages, many employees want to improve educational tools and the daily work load is easy.
Cons
WebAssign is a slow-moving education company, not the fast-paced technology company that my recruiter advertised. I was fooled. We still use Perl to develop all our instructional content and software. The product development team lacks solid talent and the managers use "Agile" to shield the mediocre team members. Our technology leadership lacks experience driving innovation and we are struggling. Products are slipping and we have abandoned efforts to move off old technology. The entire executive team is a hodgepodge of junior executives and most do not have experience with educational products.

Pros
Many employees want to create products that improve the plight of the teacher. We recognize that education in this country is in trouble and WebAssign can help educators improve their effectiveness.
Cons
As much as our employees want to help teachers, the managers can't get out of our way. The managers are demoralizing and create a dreary workplace. Most WebAssign managers have no management experience. They are making it up as they go along. The executives are terrible and inexperienced. The executives don't know anything about education and they change direction every two months. The CEO barely graduated from university and he doesn’t understand teachers.
