Pros

The starting pay was decent. Remote

Cons

This was a strange experience. They promote this phony culture but everyone in management was so disingenuous. They micromanage A LOT, was condescending and they base everything off this Disc personality test. They were accusatory and even rude at times. And there wasn't much diversity. Everyone looked the same. They pry into your personal life and call in building a relationship but just use it against you so just make up some BS. ALL of your time is mapped out. Even the scheduled breaks were being taken away because they were running over in training classes. They even had this strange thing where you just sit on camera working and supervisors just sit and watch you and if your facial expression doesn't look like a Stepford wife you will get a nasty message from a supervisor, mind you no customers can see you. There is no room for advancement, you are constantly harassed on messenger by people you don't even know and you have to respond in timely fashion even tho you aren't supposed to multitask while working. You will get dinged for that. I can go on and on but this fake culture act was not for me.

Pros

Free cereal, Soda, snacks. Cool game room.

Cons

Where to begin. This is all my opinion and my personal experience. The culture, at least in Tampa, was flat out scary. Favoritism was the worst you'll ever see. There were so many processes that wasted time and money. For instance writing manual test cases line by line, E.g. "Open a browser, go to this link, type this search, Hit go". A 30 minute test would take hours because of that tedium. And just think about the wasted payroll behind that. They will deny it I'm sure, but they would read chats and DM's of the people they didn't like. We saw it firsthand. Managers would treat you well if you humored them, they liked positive attention. If you had complaints, you were as good as fired. And on that topic, in Tampa they will fire anyone they want at any time without reason. Florida is a perfect state for them with its right to work laws. I am very sure there were clear workforce violations, but they made everyone sign an arbitration agreement (after accepting the job)....very convenient. If they suspected that you submitted a negative glassdoor review, they would fire you. It happened to people I know. The owner of the parent company, Clark, came to visit in Tampa. He held a town hall meeting where he bragged about how he liked that their company did not need an "HR" department. Of course they have HR to some degree, but they leave all of the employee relations up to the individual managers. As you can imagine, that is incredibly dangerous for the employees. Sometimes, Managers and employees do not get along well. The manager had the power to just fire you instead of working on a solution (again, the will deny this happens). They would bait new employees with promises of pay raises after x amount of time, but it would not happen. They loved the "well it was not in writing" game. I am sure that Webstaurantstore will reply to this review and try to say that this has all changed now, and things are better. Well first of all, The fact that these things EVER happened should be a huge red flag to potential employees. Second, I still keep in contact with some of my former colleges, and they have a very different story about the current state of employee relations. I don't think much has changed. I would be VERY cautious of this company. I had my lawyer review the Arbitration agreement they made us all sign after we were hired and he said that I should NOT sign it. But its that or lose your job...and this is AFTER you get hired and sign your initial paperwork (at least it was for me).

Pros

The pay is good because they know it has to be to keep anyone

Cons

Not closed on most holidays, expect to work. Never seen anything that more accurately describes toxic positivity. You might think you are being hired for "customer service" but you will actually be expected to: 1. Take on other reps work loads (even from other teams), 2. Read books and give reports 3. Create presentations about culture and perform them 4. Create and manage goals for yourself and the whole team, AKA your "team lead" isnt going to help you, just watch you squirm. 5. Be available to answer all of your teams questions (Even with 10+ chats waiting, 100+ emails to be answered, and calls in the queue). One thing you can depend on is they will always try to make work life harder for customer service reps. You can 100% be fired for "culture" which are things that are impossible to fight, just your Team Leads personal opinions of you. If you like living with repressed fear, this job is for you! There is no room for growth, it's a lie they feed you so they can tell you to "be a leader without the title". I can count the number of culturally diverse individuals I have come into contact with on one hand, none in management that I have seen. They let anyone be a Team Lead when they had too many customers to handle. They just promoted anyone with a pulse willing to drink the company kool-aide. I have never seen a more incapable Team Leader than the one I have had for 3 years now. They over hired two years ago and have been punishing us ever since.

We are sorry to hear about your experience. The customer solutions department was overstaffed due to automation efforts in the past year. Instead of doing layoffs we provided more opportunities for employees to invest in themselves, like doing trainings. Although volume is now increasing for our typical busy season, we are not near max capacity and remain below industry standards for expectations. WebstaurantStore employees come from a wide variety of backgrounds and we value people from all walks of life. We have made progress in terms of increasing the representation of underrepresented groups in leadership positions, but also understand that there is always room for improvement. We have incorporated diversity, equity, and inclusion into our training and we are constantly working towards creating a more inclusive environment. Employees are encouraged to share feedback with their manager, but an annual anonymous department survey is also available to share concerns. Skip-level meetings are offered so that employees can meet with their manager's manager to share feedback. Your feedback here has been shared with management for review.
