Pros

Very experienced veteran engineers but they are either retiring or close to retire.

Cons

Managers don't know anything.. A lot of overhead and bureaucracy. Technical people are outnumbered by project managers, managers and all other overhead. Tons of nepotism and favoritism.

Pros

Consider yourself lucky to have a roster of smart and talented engineers and others at Westinghouse. Many of them remember what it was like to be proud of the company they work for. A lot of good ones have left in their own self-interest, or been jettisoned, but those of us who remain are carrying on, despite the complete lack of trust in and respect for the senior management team.

Cons

I doubt you can find one non-nepotic worker at Westinghouse who has respect for senior management as leaders. The word “transformation” is in vogue now. Guess what. Adding the prefix “Global” to various group names and playing management musical chairs does not constitute a transformation.

Pros

Pay seems very good compared to similar jobs on the market. The headquarters facility is very nice with onsite cafeteria and plenty of parking in a desirable suburb.

Cons

Morale is low due to layoffs and mandatory overtime for those of us who are left. Westinghouse felt like a small, close-knit company when I started working here. Now, it just feels like a big, bureaucratic mess. Too many executives and not enough worker bees. It's very difficult to transfer internally to other positions.
