Unfortunately, what the company ultimately wanted was to throw features together as quick as possible without regard to quality or performance, as the resulting product shows that to be true. Any attempt to fix the root cause of technical problems was stymied by either by those that worried only about making the burn down charts look good or by the folks responsible for the terrible design in the first place. There were a lot of really great devs there, but they have mostly evaporated. The few remaining will be gone soon enough. Product management was not willing to collaborate with development, just insisting that devs "figure out" their incomplete and conflicting specs, but never being happy with the result. Ultimately, all decisions, technical an organizational were determined by corporate politics.
