Pros

I'd have to say the only pro about working for WilsonHCG was the friendships that I built with the people I worked with. The organization as a whole is very cliquey and there are a lot of people that will do whatever it takes to make themselves look good to upper management. I was lucky enough to work with some pretty great people and built some awesome friendships with people, some of whom I've never even met in person. Those friendships are the reason I ended up staying as long as I did.

Cons

Where do I even begin? There are so many negative aspects to this company that the list could go on for days. First off, don't be fooled by these positive reviews on here. Marketing has all of the new hires and interns write positive reviews after they start to help hide the truth. I remember when I first started with the company, I was asked to write a review and I had only been with the company for a week. For the most part, management is absolutely terrible. During my time with the company, I had multiple managers that did not have my best interest in mind and only cared about how they looked to the executive team and the rest of the company. I believe this stems from the fact that the company promotes people into management roles just based on your numbers and who you have an "in" with, as opposed to promoting people into management roles that actually know how to manage and people want to work with. Whenever I needed something done, I couldn't trust my manager to have my back. I always had to go above to someone with higher power to even try and accomplish what I was trying to accomplish. Even then it was a struggle to get things done. Compensation is an absolute joke. The company makes enough money on their overpriced hires to their clients, the least they can do is compensate those who are actually filling those roles! They word the compensation structure as a "base + commission" structure, but that's a lie. It's more of a "base + small bonus" structure. On top of that, your "commission" is capped, so you can't even really make what you deserve to be making based on the hours you put in. The bonus you receive is based on a monthly quota, which is usually unobtainable. And on the off chance that you do hit your monthly quota, you better expect it to jump even higher the following month. For instance, I know for a fact that one of my colleagues hit her quota and the next month it was DOUBLED. There's also a really big disconnect between the sales team and the delivery team. The sales team pretty much says and does whatever they possibly can to land a client, and then they push it off on the delivery team to fulfill whatever they've promised. The clients we get are generally horrible and are a complete nightmare to work with.

Pros

Remote work environment and I have enjoyed working with my colleagues. PTO was nice when I actually felt I could take my time off without being put on a performance plan.

Cons

Not paying out bonuses and not giving out well deserved raises is not going to save this sinking ship of a company. The company has a few outstanding leaders but the majority are absolutely terrible. As a recruiter with almost 10 years of experience, I have never been so micro managed and spoken down to in my career. More layoffs again right before the holidays. The industry is struggling YES I understand but I recall a time we all took a pay cut and didn't have to fire highly talented people to make a bottom line. I am beyond disappointed that I left a stable and well paying job for the promise of work life balance. I am here to tell you that the glass is definitely not greener on the Wilson side.

We'd encourage you to speak to your leader or the P&C team in confidence as this really doesn't align with how we do things here at WilsonHCG. We would like to support you with your work-life balance, so please do make contact.

Pros

The Pros are the employees that stay, they are amazing & dedicated until they burn out & leave. Most of the real good people especially Upper Management have left so that alone is worth a thousand words. Great first job for those looking to become a recruiter & get their feet wet agency style but be ready to run a full desk with no support. Real RPOs have support behind their recruiters (sourcers, admins, etc.) Training is good & they definitely pull you in & get you hooked from the get go. Virtual is also a plus.

Cons

Smoke & Mirrors all the way. They don't care about the amazing employees that they have & as long as you hit your numbers you are a star (agency all about the numbers) but if you slip they will start building a case against you & make your work life miserable. There is "0" & I mean "0" work/life balance so don't believe it when they preach it. On top of your work load you have to do "extra" work in order to move into a different salary range which they make it almost impossible to even achieve. One Manager on the team didn't even have a chance to sleep one week because she couldn't handle the load & then was told she was a "disappointment". If you have a family emergency good luck they will hold that against you even death doesn't matter. They have no idea what a real RPO is whatsoever & won't ever be one. It is all about the bottom line & how much money they can bring in. They "over promise" to their clients & lie which is common. They ask their employees to all write "positive reviews" so that they can look good. They have great contests for employees to make the company better but don't listen so it is just to make the employees feel as if they are being "heard" & that change will happen which it never does sadly.

Thank you for your recent review of WilsonHCG based on your time here. There has certainly been a lot of change within our organisation, and some people have unfortunately left as a result. For us, change likewise brings with it a number of benefits. We are growing every day as a business, and we pride ourselves on being innovative and changing with the market. We believe the best way to grow is to seek the ideas and transparency from our employees, and to empower our workforce. Of note, we are continuously looking to develop our recruiters through formal, in-depth training programs to best equip them to overcome a variety of obstacles they may face each day. As our business and workforce continues to grow, we as a company are learning as well. In the last year alone, we have opened two new offices; these offices, opened based on the feedback we've received from clients, our workforce, the market and business imperatives, will provide our recruiters and clients with on-the-ground support, including best-fit ways in which we can grow our business and back office teams. We want our employees to feel empowered to manage their workloads, and to give them the balance and flexibility to manage their time. This is one reason among many that we have targets in place. We have also tied recruiter goals to their bonuses, ultimately giving our people more opportunity and rewards for meeting individual and team-oriented goals as well as for overachieving. We want all WilsonHCG employees to be rewarded fairly for the hard work they put in! This includes having aligned our salary reviews with how employees go above and beyond, and learn and develop new ideas. I want to thank you for your feedback and advice based on your personal experiences with our company, and I will personally ensure this is shared and discussed where suitable. - Lauren Bullock
